Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are presented for managing a multi-subscriber identity module (SIM) user equipment (UE) such that a camp-on procedure of one or more subscriptions of the multi-SIM UE may be more quickly implemented. For example, a method is presented that includes receiving, by a first subscription corresponding to a first SIM of the multi-SIM UE, a system information block (SIB) from a cell, wherein the SIB includes information associated with the cell and each of one or more neighbor cells of the cell. Additionally, the example method may include selecting from the cell and the one or more neighbor cells and based on the information included in the SIB, a target cell upon which a second subscription of the multi-SIM UE is to camp. Moreover, the example method presented by the present disclosure may include camping the second subscription on the neighbor cell.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A multi-antenna user equipment (UE) may communicate with a base station using a first antenna, determine to switch from the first antenna to a second antenna for communicating with the base station, determine a silence window in which communication with the base station is suspended, schedule the switch from the first antenna to the second antenna to occur during the silence window, and switch from the first antenna to the second antenna during the silence window.
Abstract:
The apparatus may be an apparatus for wireless communication. The apparatus for wireless communication may include a processing system. The processing system may manage an antenna beam. The processing system may be configured to monitor a parameter of a signal and widen the antenna beam of the apparatus for wireless communication when the parameter falls below a threshold.
Abstract:
The present disclosure presents a method and an apparatus for reducing circuit-switched (CS) call establish time during cell redirection or reselection process. For example, the method may include moving a circuit switched fall back (CSFB) user equipment (UE) from a CS supported cell to a packet switched (PS) supported cell. Further, the method may include receiving a request to initiate the CS call during the moving. Additionally, the method may include aborting the moving in response to the request to initiate the CS call. Further yet, the method may include initiating the CS call in connection with the CS supported cell.
Abstract:
A method for releasing a radio resource control (RRC) connection with a first subscription for a multi subscriber identity module multi standby (MSMS) mobile communication device having a radio frequency chain includes: completing registration and packet switched detach procedures between the mobile communication device and a communication network for the first subscription; determining whether an RRC connection release message for the first subscription is received from the communication network; in response to determining that the RRC connection release message for the first subscription is not received from the communication network, starting a timer; determining whether the RRC connection release message for the first subscription is received from the communication network before the timer expires; and in response to determining that the RRC connection release message for the first subscription is not received from the communication network before the timer expires, sending a signaling release indicator to the first communication network.
Abstract:
The present disclosure presents a method and an apparatus reducing call set up failures at a user equipment (UE) during serving radio network subsystem (SRNS) relocation. For example, the apparatus and method may include identifying that a second circuit switched (CS) or packet switched (PS) call is initiated at the UE when a first CS or PS call is in progress at the UE, determining that a SRNS relocation is triggered at a network entity that is in communication with the UE prior to setting up of a radio access bearer (RAB) for the second CS or PS call, and terminating the SRNS relocation and sending a failure message to the network entity in response to the determination. As such, reduced call set up failures at the user equipment (UE) during SRNS relocation may be achieved.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for communication comprise initiating cell selection from a source cell to a target cell during an active communication state with the source cell. In some aspects, the source cell is associated with a first radio network controller (RNC) identifier. The methods and apparatus further comprise determining whether a second RNC identifier associated with the target cell is the same as the first RNC identifier. Additionally, the methods and apparatus comprise selecting to the target cell when the second RNC identifier is the same as the first RNC identifier.
Abstract:
A method for wireless communication in a multi-antenna user equipment (UE) is described. The UE comprises communicating with a network device using a first antenna; assessing communication metrics; comparing the communication metrics to a threshold; determining to switch from the first antenna to a second antenna for communicating with the network device based at least in part on the comparing the communication metrics to the threshold; determining a switch duration corresponding to a length of time to switch from the first antenna to the second antenna for communicating with the network device; determining a silence window in which communication with the network device is suspended; determining a silence duration corresponding to a length of time of the silence window; comparing the switch duration to the silence duration; and switching from the first antenna to the second antenna during the silence window in response to the silence duration being equal to or greater than the switch duration. Further, a corresponding UE is described.
