Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to capturing panorama images using an image capture device including a camera. An example method includes receiving a user command to begin generation of a panorama image, capturing a plurality of images with the camera for generating the panorama image, while capturing the plurality of images, receiving an indication specifying a center region of interest (ROI), completing capture of the plurality of images, and automatically generating the panorama image based on the plurality of image, the panorama image centered at the specified center ROI.

Abstract: A method and apparatus facilitate securing access to applications. An apparatus includes a touch-sensitive display configured to display a plurality of objects representing a plurality of applications, the touch-sensitive display configured to receive a selection of a first object of the plurality of objects representing a first application of the plurality of applications. The apparatus also includes an authentication module coupled to the display. The authentication module is configured to receive biometric data in response to the selection of the first object, compare the received biometric data to a biometric template, and generate a match signal upon a determination that the received biometric data matches the biometric template. The apparatus also includes a processor configured to prevent access to the first application before the match signal is received, and enable access to the first application in response to the receipt of the match signal.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for in-display camera activation are described. The method includes receiving a request to activate a camera of the device, identifying a start of frame marker associated with activating the camera in response to the request, and emitting a signal to a display of the device in response to the identified start of frame marker, where the emitted signal triggers the display to transition a set of liquid crystal elements of the display from a display mode to a camera mode for camera operation.

Abstract: Briefly, one particular example implementation is directed to an apparatus including a digital imager. In the particular example implementation, the image includes an array of pixels, in which at least some pixels are dedicated to measure light component signals, such as for an image, and at least other pixels are dedicated to measure Visible Light Communication (VLC) signals. It should be understood that the aforementioned particular implementation is merely an example and claimed subject matter is not necessarily limited to any particular aspect of this example implementation.

Abstract: A method of image processing includes capturing two frames of image data using a camera having a phase detection auto focus (PDAF) sensor, subtracting phase difference pixel data associated with the two frames of image data to produce residual phase difference values, detecting a region-of-interest change based on the residual phase differences values, and determining a focus for the PDAF camera sensor based on the detected region-of-interest change. The method may further include compressing the residual phase difference values, sending the compressed residual phase difference values to a processor, and reconstructing, with the processor, the phase difference pixel data from the compressed residual phase difference values.
