Abstract: Method and apparatus for cooperative early threat detection. In some aspects, the apparatus detects one or more object data signals having data that interferes with wireless resources utilized in automated driving decisions. The apparatus transmits, to at least a second wireless device, a message indicating the one or more object data signals having the data that interferes with wireless resources utilized in automated driving decisions. The one or more object data signals may correspond to a misbehaving wireless device. The data of the misbehaving wireless device may comprise implausible data related to at least one characteristic of the misbehaving wireless device.

Abstract: Techniques described herein provide for filtering and prioritizing incoming messages, which can help reduce and smooth out the processing load on components used to process the incoming messages. Filtering techniques may comprise identifying a subset of nearby vehicles from which messages are to be processed, and further calculating remaining delay budgets with regard to the messages to prioritize them for processing. Different techniques for determining a subset of nearby vehicles can be used, and/or remaining delay budgets may be calculated and/or communicated in different ways.

Abstract: Aspects directed towards synchronizing out of coverage (OOC) vehicle-to- everything (V2X) communications are disclosed. In one example, a scheduled entity detects a loss of a synchronization signal associated with a V2X communication by detecting when a timing uncertainty value or error value is greater than a threshold value. Packet timing information is then received in response to the loss of the synchronization signal from at least one user equipment (UE) synchronized with the synchronization signal. The scheduled entity then maintains the V2X communication by performing a timing adjustment based on the packet timing information.

Abstract: Apparatus, methods, and computer program products for cache building for cryptographic verification that may be used in connection with a V2X communication system are provided. An example method includes receiving, from a second wireless device, at least one V2X message of a plurality of V2X messages, the at least one V2X message being associated with a verification key. The example method further includes determining whether the verification key for the at least one V2X message is a target verification key. The example method further includes determining, if the verification key is the target verification key, to generate an entry in a cache for the verification key. The example method further includes generating, upon determining to generate the entry in the cache, the entry in the cache for the verification key.

Abstract: This disclosure discloses various vehicle-to-everything (V2X) wireless communication processes that use switching diversity to improve coverage over that of a single transmit antenna. Switching diversity may be implemented by alternating the transmit antennas according to a certain switching pattern. A V2X device determines a pattern for alternating a plurality of antennas for transmitting data packets. The V2X device selects, based on the pattern, a first antenna of the plurality of antennas, and transmit a first packet of the data packets using the first antenna. The V2X device further select, based on the pattern, a second antenna of the plurality of antennas, and transmit a second packet of the data packets using the second antenna.

Abstract: Methods and devices and systems for implementing the methods for authenticating plaintext and ciphertext in a vehicle-to-everything (V2X) message include generating ciphertext from a plaintext message to be transmitted in a V2X message, generating a hash of the ciphertext and a hash of the plaintext message, generating a digital signature of a concatenation of the hash of the ciphertext and the hash of the plaintext message, and sending to a network node a V2X message that includes the ciphertext, the hash of the plaintext message, and the digital signature. The hash of the plaintext message, and the digital signature may be configured to enable the network node to verify that the V2X endpoint node signed the concatenation.

Whether to transition one or more communication functions from the vehicle to a user device can be determined based on the temperature, humidity, etc. In response to a determination to transition the one or more communication functions, the one or more communication functions can be transitioned from a communication unit of the vehicle to a communication unit of the user device.
