    Abstract: Aspects presented herein may enable a UE to improve (e.g., reduce) the convergence time for vision-aided positioning by enabling the UE to use images embedded with location information. In one aspect, a UE receives, from a reference device, a server, or a map, a list of visual features and a location for each visual feature in the list of visual features. The UE identifies at least one visual feature in an area via at least one camera, where the at least one visual feature is included in the list of visual features, where the area is within a threshold distance of the UE. The UE estimates a position of the UE based on the identified at least one visual feature in the area and the location corresponding to the at least one visual feature.

    Abstract: Method and apparatus to determine a line-of-sight (LOS) path based at least on polarization characteristics. The apparatus determines a polarization used by a transmitter for at least one RS. The apparatus receives the at least one RS with a first received polarization in a first configuration and a second received polarization in a second configuration that is different from the first configuration. The apparatus measures polarization characteristics of the first received polarization and the second received polarization. The apparatus determines whether the at least one RS was received in a LOS path from the transmitter based on the measured polarization characteristics and expected received polarization characteristics, wherein the expected received polarization characteristics are based on the determined polarization used by the transmitter.

    Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for positioning. In an aspect, a positioning entity obtains a plurality of pairs of timing measurements based on a plurality of pairs of ranging messages exchanged on a plurality of bandwidths, determines a plurality of range measurements based on the plurality of pairs of timing measurements, each range measurement of the plurality of range measurements based on one pair of the plurality of pairs of timing measurements, determines a weight for each range measurement of the plurality of range measurements based at least on a bandwidth of the plurality of bandwidths of a pair of timing measurements of the plurality of pairs of timing measurements used to determine the range measurement, and determines a weighted mean of the plurality of range measurements based at least on the plurality of range measurements and weights of the plurality of range measurements.

    Abstract: In some implementations, an apparatus may receive a request for the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) position fix information. The request may include an accuracy requirement. The apparatus may determine a set of GNSS bands to use to determine the GNSS position fix information. The set of GNSS bands may comprise one or more bands from a plurality of available GNSS bands, and determining the set of GNSS bands to use may be based at least in part on the accuracy requirement. The apparatus may determine the GNSS position fix information based at least in part on GNSS signals received via the selected set of GNSS bands. The apparatus may provide the GNSS position fix information (e.g., to an application processor). The GNSS position fix information may comprise a GNSS position fix, pseudorange information, or both.

    Abstract: Aspects presented herein may enhance the navigation function of navigation/map applications or systems when GNSS signals are weak or sporadic. In one aspect, a UE monitors a position of the UE based on GNSS communication, where the position of the UE is monitored using at least one first map layer of a plurality of map layers associated with a map. The UE detects that the position of the UE corresponds to a predefined location when the GNSS communication is below a communication threshold. The UE switches to monitoring the position of the UE using at least one second map layer of the plurality of map layers upon detecting that the position of the UE corresponds to the predefined location, where the at least one second map layer is associated with the predefined location.
