Abstract:
Example implementations include a method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium of wireless communication for a network node to transport signaling used to coordinate management of a RAN for local traffic between a first node and a UE across a wireless connection. The network node may establish a first wireless signaling connection between a first node and a second node. The network node may encapsulate or decapsulate traffic associated with a second wireless signaling connection within the first wireless signaling connection. The second wireless signaling connection corresponds to a non-Fl interface of a control plane or user plane network function that terminates at the first node. For instance, the network node may be a consumer premises equipment (CPE) serving a UE, a base station wirelessly serving the CPE, or a core network node providing control for the UE.
Abstract:
A method of wireless communication by a user equipment (UE) includes determining whether the UE transitioned between an international area and a national area. The method also includes triggering a public land mobile network (PLMN) selection of a network for receiving service, in response to the UE having transitioned between the international area and the national area. A method of wireless communication by a UE includes performing a PLMN search for a higher priority PLMN. The method includes determining a list of candidate PLMNs based on the search. The method further includes selecting a PLMN from among the list of candidate PLMNs in response to an identity of a serving PLMN not being a shared mobile country code (MCC). The candidate PLMNs have either an MCC the same as an identity of the serving PLMN or a shared MCC. The selected PLMN has a higher priority than the serving PLMN.
Abstract:
Apparatus and method for power management in a wireless communication network include identifying a user equipment (UE) configuration as a stationary extra-long battery device configuration, receiving a measurement threshold adjustment message, and adjusting an idle mode cell measurement threshold based on the measurement threshold adjustment message.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods are described herein for optimizing wireless communications using radio resource control (RRC) combining. An RRC request message includes a non-access stratum (NAS) service request. An RRC connection setup message can then be provided including a combination of information for configuring the RRC connection.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided in which a user equipment performs an inter-radio access technology (RAT) mobility procedure from a first network to a second network while idle mode signaling reduction (ISR) is active, locally deactivates (ISR) in connection with completion of the inter-RAT mobility procedure, and initiates a location management procedure in the second network. Depending on the respective type of the first and second network, and the connection state of the (UE) with respect to the first network, the mobility procedure may be performed in response to a mobility command received from the first network, or in response to a mobility condition of the first network as detected by the (UE).
Abstract:
In one aspect, the disclosure provides for the utilization of an EPS QoS parameter in a PDP context for a UMTS network. Another aspect of the disclosure provides for the utilization of an aggregate maximum bit rate (AMBR) parameter, rather than the conventional maximum bit rate (MBR) parameter, of a QoS profile, for restricting the bit rate corresponding to a PDP context in a UMTS network.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods, apparatus and computer program products for traffic volume reporting during radio access network (RAN) connection setup. In one aspect, the RAN broadcasts an indicator that it accepts traffic volume measurements (TVM) from access terminals (ATs) and an associated TVM threshold. An AT measures its traffic volume before requesting a connection with the RAN. If the traffic volume is above the threshold, AT transmits to the RAN a connection request containing a TVM indicator that the measured traffic volume from the AT is above the threshold. If the traffic volume is below the threshold, AT transmits to the RAN a connection request containing a TVM indicator that the traffic volume is below the threshold.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for facilitating capacity monitoring and recommending action for a wireless network is provided. The method may comprise: obtaining data associated with one or more capacity attributes and one or more key performance indicators (KPIs) associated with a network, calculating network level values for the one or more KPIs from the obtained data, generating performance data graphs by plotting a first of the one or more KPIs against a second of the one or more KPIs, analyzing the one or more performance data graphs to determine at least one alarm threshold, and monitoring the one or more capacity attributes to determine if any of the at least one alarm thresholds has been triggered.
Abstract:
Example implementations include a method, apparatus, and computer-readable medium of wireless communication for backhaul transport of non-Fl traffic between an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node and a. IAB -donor-central unit (CU). The IAB- node may have a connection with the lAB-donor-CU. The lAB-node may provide the lAB-donor-CU with an indication of a non-Fl type of traffic for backhauling between the lAB-node and the IAB -donor-central unit. The lAB-node may receive, from the IAB- donor-CU, a configuration that maps the non-Fl type of traffic to an uplink transport channel at the lAB-node. The lAB-node may transmit uplink non-Fl traffic to the IAB- donor-CU over the uplink transport channel based on the configuration.
Abstract:
Apparatus and methods of controlling call establishment are described. A user equipment (UE) may determine to establish a call. In an aspect, the UE may detect a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) access node and receive, from a Wireless Wide Area Network (WWAN) access node, WWAN load-related information. Based on UE call establishment rules and the WWAN load-related information, the UE may determine whether to establish the call on the WWAN access node or the WLAN access node. In another aspect, the UE may determine WLAN access node characteristics associated with a received signal from a WLAN access node. The UE may forward a call establishment request, including the WLAN access node characteristics to a WWAN access node. The UE may receive a redirection command to redirect the call establishment request to the WLAN access node.
