Abstract: A mobile communication terminal capable of position measurement and a positioning method in the mobile terminal are provided to determine a position of the terminal by using BS(Base Station) signal information from a main BS and a neighboring BS and detailed information about the main BS and neighboring BS transmitted from a server, thus the position of the terminal can be more exactly determined. A BS information recorder(310) records BS detailed information corresponding to more than one BS. A BS information receiver receives the BS detailed information about a main BS and the more than one BS existing in an expanded area from a predetermined server. A BS information recording unit records the received BS detailed information in the recorder(310). A BS signal receiver(320) receives BS signal information at predetermined cycles or whenever being requested from the main BS. A BS information reader(330) reads the BS detailed information about the BSs, which corresponds to the received BS signal information. A positioning unit(340) determines a position of a mobile communication terminal(300) by using the received BS signal information and the read BS detailed information.
