Abstract: This internal combustion piston engine structure comprising assembled cast elements, namely a cylinder block, a cylinder head, a valve gear case and an oil sump pan, is characterised by the stacking of these elements in planes parallel to the cylinder head gasket, each element receiving separately in the form of pre-assembled sub-assemblies the mechanical components inherent thereto, the stacking of said sub-assemblies being maintained by a series of common studs screwed in the cylinder block and extending in rough-cast holes through the other assembled elements.

Abstract: The valve-cooling circuit in accordance with the invention especially comprises: - a bush 8 intended to receive an injector or a central spark plug, and connected into the cylinder head 10; - an annular groove 12 made in the cylinder head, concentric with the bore 14 for receiving the bush 8 and at a height from the bottom of the bush depending on the angular arrangement of the valves relative to the injector or to the spark plug; - two first ducts 7, 9 made respectively between the inlet and exhaust valves in a manner so as to open out into this groove 12 and to supply it with pressurised water coming directly from a water distributor outlet from the water pump; - and two second ducts orthogonal to the first, each made between an inlet valve and an exhaust valve in a manner so as to open out into this groove 12 and to connect it to the water chamber of the cylinder head.

Abstract: The present invention provides liner for internal combustion engines of the compressed type, in particular for Diesel engines with precombustion chambers. In the liner, the thickness of the compressed portion is reinforced while maintaining a reduced interaxial distance between cylinders by providing two opposed longitudinal flats perpendicular to the plane of the cylinders. The resultant reduced thickness of the liner is compensated for by a connection of the flats to the surface of the liner by concave round offs which form reinforcements of thickness on either side of the thinnest zone. Longitudinal reinforcing ribs, essentially equidistant with each other and the reinforcements, are distributed on the periphery of the liner.
