Abstract:
The present invention relates to crosslinked polymeric nanoparticles having a diameter of 1-10 nm comprising skin care ingredients and food ingredients.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a continuous process for producing polymeric nanoparticles of 1 to 100 nm in diameter comprising continuously feeding a reaction mixture comprising at least one type of monomer into a reactor under reaction conditions capable of causing polymerization of said monomer to produce said polymeric nanoparticles.
Abstract:
Solid media useful for a variety of applications, such as separations, catalysis, drug carriers, sensors, and combinatorial chemistry, are disclosed. The solid media are prepared with PNPs having a diameter of 1 to 50 nanometers, the PNPs including as polymerized units a multi-ethylenically-unsaturated monomer. Also provided are methods for preparing the solid media.
Abstract:
Low-color bisphenols may be produced by a reacting phenol with an aliphatic aldehyde or ketone in the presence of a strong-acid cation exchange resin acting as an acid catalyst for the reaction, and of a small amount, relative to the acid catalyst, of a weak-base anion exchange resin.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a process for the alkylation of isoalkanes with olefins using sulfonated polymer catalysts, where the catalyst has a moisture content of less than about 1.0%, and a catalyst useful in such process. Preferred catalysts include sulfonated macroporous crosslinked vinylaromatic polymers and sulfonated carbonaceous adsorbent polymers having surface areas greater than about 400 square meters per gram. The process is useful for the synthesis of branched alkanes which may be used in high-octane gasolines, e.g., trimethylpentanes from isobutane and butenes.

Abstract:
An inkjet ink binder including polymeric nanoparticles ("PNPs") having a mean diameter in the range of 1 to 50 nanometers, wherein the PNPs include as polymerized units 1-20%, by weight based on dry polymer weight, of a curable composition. The reaction of the curable composition can be initiated thermally, chemically or via actinic radiation. An inkjet ink composition comprising a liquid medium, a colorant and the inkjet binder and a method for improving the durability of inkjet ink printed on a substrate are also provided.
Abstract:
Olefin-based materials react with a range of catalysts and catalytic systems to form catalytic matrices, which are employed in the production of a variety of polyolefin products.
