    Abstract: The invention concerns chemical compositions in the form of pellets which disintegrate quickly and efficiently in aqueous media. Such pellets comprise a) at least one constituent with pharmaceutical, agrochemical, water treatment, water softening, fabric softening or detergency activity; b) one or more disintegration agents comprising one or more cross-linked polyacrylate water absorbent polymers with a gel-formation time of 30 seconds or less and c) one or more water transport agents to transport water into the pellet when the pellet contacts water, wherein at least one of the said water transport agents comprises at least one starch or starch derivative.
