Abstract: A resonator system for tunable lasers has a laser medium (1), a 100 per cent reflecting mirror (2), a strip incidence grating (3), a deflection prism (4) that can be pivoted around a point (5) and a further deflection mirror (8). The beam is deflected and leaves the resonator in a specific direction. An alternative version replaces the deflection prism with a mirror that can be moved to tune the resonator. A third version omits the grating and has direct reflection control. ADVANTAGE - Uses few resonator elements and eliminates adverse effect of amplified spontaneous emission.
