Abstract: A detection system includes an electrochemical sensor. Measurement circuitry is coupled to the electrochemical sensor and configured to measure an electrical characteristic of the electrochemical sensor. A controller is coupled to the measurement circuitry and is configured to provide an indication based on the measured electrical characteristic. The controller is further configured to generate an electrical disturbance to the electrochemical sensor and obtain a sensor recovery profile to provide a diagnostic indication relative to the electrochemical sensor.
