Abstract: An isolator system for a pressure transmitter includes a port internal to the transmitter, a sensor tube, and a fill tube. The sensor tube is connected to the port to fluidly connect a passageway through a transmitter body to a pressure sensor. The sensor tube includes a first end disposed in the port. The first end has a first cross-sectional area. The fill tube is internal to the transmitter and connected to the port to fluidly connect to the passageway. The fill tube includes a second end disposed in the port. The second end of the fill tube has a second cross-sectional area that is less than the first cross-sectional area of the sensor tube.

Abstract: A pressure capsule/header assembly for a process fluid pressure transmitter is provided. An isolator plug has an isolation diaphragm at a first end thereof and a second end spaced from the first end. The isolator plug has a fill fluid passageway fluidically coupling the first end to the second end. A header has a first end configured to carry a pressure sensor and a second end spaced from the first end. The header has at least one electrical interconnect extending from the first end to the second end. A biaxial support ring is disposed about an outer surface of the header. The biaxial support ring and the header define a tapered interference interface therebetween. The header is welded to the isolator plug at a first weld and the biaxial support ring is welded to the isolator plug at a location that is spaced from the second end of the header.

Abstract: A pressure transmitter includes a process connector configured to mount to a process vessel that carries a process fluid, a process pressure sensor and an isolator plug coupled to the process connector and configured to house the process pressure sensor. The isolator plug includes at least one internal fluid filled cavity that is in fluidic contact with the process pressure sensor. At least one transfer mount made of a metallic material is coupled to the isolator plug. The transfer mount includes an internal fluid filled cavity that is in fluid communication with the internal fluid filled cavity of the isolator plug. At least one isolation diaphragm exposed to the process fluid in the process connector is coupled to the transfer mount and configured to transfer process pressure to the internal fluid filled cavities of the transfer mount and the isolator plug and to the process pressure sensor.
