A rotary dryer for resin dehydration, comprising: a cylindrical body which rotates about an axis perpendicular to a diameter of the cylindrical body; an air filter located outside the cylindrical body; coils located outside the cylindrical body, wherein the coils are oriented vertically and oriented parallel to the diameter of the cylindrical body, wherein the coils do not comprise horizontal surfaces; and lifters located within the cylindrical body.

A method of purifying waste water generated during an emulsion polymerization process for acrylonitrile butadiene styrene comprising the steps of filtering, supplying an oxidizing agent, raising the pH to between 8 and 12 to form a precipitate and separating the precipitate, introducing the clarified waste water to a membrane bioreactor, acidifying the biologically treated waste water for degassing of carbon dioxide, subjecting the waste water to a softening treatment, increasing subsequently the pH before introducing the waste water to a reverse osmosis unit in order to have a total solid content smaller than 10 ppm. An apparatus suitable for carrying out said method.

The disclosure concerns a system for the removal of particulate from a waste vapor stream from a hydrocarbon production process. The particulate can be removed from the waste vapor stream using a series of water streams and gravity separation.
