Abstract:
A device (20) for installing a tubular junction sleeve inside a pipe (1), having a mandrel (20a) of longitudinal axis (XX) supporting on its surface at least a first peripheral chamber (21) having a wall (21a) that is radially expandable by inflation. The first wall including at least one electrical connector (21b) suitable for being connected to one end of said heater wire. The connector being connected to an umbilical (24) including at least a compressed air feed duct for inflating said the first chamber and an electrical power supply duct connected to the electrical connector. The device being characterized in that the mandrel supports on its outer surface a second peripheral chamber (22) having a wall (22a) that is radially expandable by inflation, and also a weld inspection device (23) arranged in the longitudinal direction of the mandrel.
Abstract:
A method of installing and implementing a rigid tube (10) referred to as a “main” tube, wherein the following steps are performed: a) lowering an end of the main tube from a floating support or vessel (13) on the surface (14) to below sea level (14) to be connected to undersea equipment (16) that is immersed (17); and b) maintaining the main tube as immersed in this way for a given period of time. The said main tube (10) is caused to pass through a cylindrical orifice (4) of circular section in a stress limiter device, the orifice having a slippery internal coating (3) secured to a support structure (9) secured to the floating support or vessel, the service tube thus being suitable for sliding in contact against the slippery coating during steps a) and b).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method and to a device for assembling together two tubes (1, 2) comprising a tubular junction sleeve and an internal pipe liner tube made of thermoplastic materials by laser welding two contact surfaces of revolution (1-1, 2-1) pressed one against the other at the ends of the tubular sleeve of said liner tube overlapping coaxially.
