Abstract: A tissue specimen 13 imaging device 10 comprises a container 14 having an upwardly facing surface, adapted to receive a tissue specimen 13 and a liquid, and an ultrasound imaging assembly 20, adapted to automatically form a three dimensional image of the tissue specimen interior. The device includes a transducer head 18 with one or two arrays of transducers that is automatically moved relative to the specimen to form an image. The image or tissue specimen may be marked to indicate where to subsequently take tissue sections of the specimen.
