    Abstract: Absorbent article such as a diaper and an incontinence guard comprising a liquid permeable topsheet (2), a liquid impermeable backsheet (3) and an absorbent body (4) enclosed therebetween, said article having a front portion (5), a rear portion (6) and a crotch portion (7) therebetween, and further is provided with a belt (9) attached to or intended to be attached to the rear portion (6) of the article and to the front portion (5) of the article, in such a way that the article will assume a pantlike shape, where the belt (9) forms a part of the waist portion of the pant. The belt (9) comprises a flexible laminate comprising an elastic carrier material (11), which at least on a part of the side intended to form the outside of the belt is covered with a nonwoven material (12) having a basis weight of at least 15 and preferably at least 20 g/m2 and which may serve as attachment surface for attachment means (8,10) both in the form of adhesive tape and hook-and-loop type fasteners, at which the attachment surface also admits refastening of said attachment means.

    Abstract: Before the article is used, the fastener tabs (25, 26) are in a storage position where they each have one or more folds and the first and second surface regions of the tabs both have their fastener surfaces facing the inner layer (4) of the article. A release material is permanently bonded to the inner layer and/or the first surface region and releasably bonded to the second surface region. A hygiene article comprises two end sections (1, 2) and an intermediate section (3), each comprising an inner layer (4) which is liquid-permeable in the intermediate section, a liquid-tight outer layer and an absorbent core (21). The second end section is provided with fastener tabs (25, 26) which can be releasably secured to one or more fastener surfaces (27) on the outer layer of the first end section in order for the article to be worn. The fastener tabs are permanently attached to the inner layer in a first surface region at one end and a second surface region for securing the tab to the fastener surface is provided on the other end. At least two fastener tabs are present, secured to the inner layer on opposite side regions (6, 7) of the second end section. Before the article is used, the fastener tabs are in a storage position where they each have one or more folds and the first and second surface regions of the tabs both have their fastener surfaces facing the inner layer. A release material provided between the second surface region and inner layer is permanently bonded to the inner layer and/or first surface region and releasably bonded to the second surface region. An Independent claim is also included for a method for making the fastener tabs by bonding a release material is to a support fabric before or after folding the length edges of the fabric inwards, then cutting the fabric in its length direction to form two pieces and then applying adhesive to the folded parts of the fabric and cutting the fabric in the cross-direction.
