Abstract: The apparatus is intended to discriminate between genuine and undesired documents such as bank notes. The note is illuminated at selected sites and the spectral content of the reflected light is analysed by a photocell. All the test sites are illuminated by a light source within a transparent block of preferably synthetic resin, which distributes the light to opening adjacent the sites. The photocells are mounted in a recess in the block.
