Abstract:
The invention concerns color separation scanning of an input picture and fitting a picture into a layout page. The input picture is pre-scanned at a selectively low resolution and displayed. At least one desired geometric manipulation of the input picture by physically moving same is performed. The manipulated input picture is then scanned at a relatively high resolution to provide relatively high color resolution. The second scanning may take place on a region of the input picture around a point selected on the displayed picture. To fit a picture into a layout, two points are marked on each the displayed picture and layout and the picture is physically rotated and magnified so that the corresponding points match before rescanning the rotated and magnified picture.
Abstract:
Apparatus for separating a colored picture represented upon a transparent medium into a multiplicity of color separations including a plurality of colored light sources generally corresponding to at least some of the multiplicity of color separations for projecting light through the transparent medium, apparatus for combining the light from the plurality of light sources onto a common optical path, a detector, having an optical axis coincident to the common optical path, for detecting light falling thereon, and apparatus for sequentially operating at least some of the plurality of light sources, thereby producing the multiplicity of color separations.
