    Abstract: A contact lens (1) provided with a front curve (2) formed by a plurality of annular curved surfaces (F1, F2 .....) for distant vision and a plurality of annular curved surfaces (N1, N2 .....) for near vision, which curved surfaces (F1, F2 .....; N1, N2 .....) are arranged concentrically and alternately, characterized in that the curved surfaces for distant vision in at least the central region of the front curve extend so that the curved surfaces for distant vision farther away from the optical axis have centers of curvature (OF1, OF2 .....) positioned farther away from the optical axis and front curve, these centers of curvature of these curved surfaces being arranged so that rays of light entering these curved surfaces and being parallel to the optical axis are condensed on substantially the same point on the optical axis, the curved surfaces for near vision in at least the central region of the front curve extending so that the curved surfaces for near vision farther away from the optical axis have centers of curvature (ON1, ON2 .....) positioned farther away from the optical axis and closer to the front curve, these centers of curvature of these curved surfaces being arranged so that rays of light entering these curved surfaces and being parallel to the optical axis art condensed on substantially the same point on the optical axis. This invention can provide a contact lens which has a front curve formed by alternately arranging annular and concentric curved surfaces for distant vision and annular and concentric curved surfaces for near vision, and which is free from spherical aberration.
