PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing an acrylic resin foam which enables producing an acrylic resin foam having excellent lightness and a good appearance.SOLUTION: A method of producing an acrylic resin foam includes a step of preparing a polymerizable solution comprising polymerizable monomers including an acrylic monomer, a foaming agent containing a thermal decomposition type foaming agent, a radical polymerization initiator and a plasticizer, polymerizing the polymerizable monomers and foaming the resultant foamable polymer to form an acrylic resin foam. The polymerizable monomers contain first polymerizable monomers which have only one radical-polymerizable carbon-carbon unsaturated bond in one molecule and second polymerizable monomers which have two or more radical-polymerizable carbon-carbon unsaturated bonds in one molecule. The first polymerizable monomers contain maleic anhydride, and the content ratio of the second polymerizable monomers in the polymerizable solution is 0.001-1 pt.mass to the total amount of the first polymerizable monomers of 100 pts.mass.
