    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a plurality of pan and/or tilt positions to reset a pan and/or tilt motor step count to a known count associated with a known location without the need to perform panning and/or tilting so as to pass a preselected home position.
    SOLUTION: Each time a position of a position sensor and a position of a home sensor 136 are detected, the difference between the required step count of a pan motor 25 at each of the positions and the step count of the pan motor is determined. Each time the position of the position sensor and the position of the home sensor are detected, the difference between the required step count and the motor step count is stored. The step count of the pan motor is reset to the required step count of the motor inside a complex programmable logic device in place of a microprocessor 102, thereby reducing delay error.

The speed control signal includes ramp up and ramp down speed control for gradually increasing motor speed and gradually decreasing motor speed, respectively.     Abstract: A video surveillance camera enclosure that includes a camera housing for receiving a video surveillance camera chassis through a lower end. In one embodiment, the housing is adapted to be inserted into an opening in a ceiling member and includes a flange near the lower end and a plurality of mounting clamps for engaging the perimeter of an opening in the ceiling. The video surveillance camera chassis includes a plurality of positioning members on the perimeter of the chassis. The positioning members are engageable with a plurality of alignment flanges on the interior of the housing to a guide the chassis into a preselected position within the housing. Final insertion of the chassis into the housing and electrical connection via blind mating connectors is by threaded fasteners on the positioning members and flanges. In an alternate embodiment, the housing is installed in an enclosure that is not installed in a ceiling but is self-contained and can be located outdoors. In the outdoor installation, a heater and a fan assembly can be connected to the chassis. Selection of an address for installation of the camera can be accomplished without the need to disassemble the dome assembly. LEDs can be viewed from below the camera chassis for installation and service.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for controlling a heater in a housing of the video surveillance camera by measuring the temperature in the housing of the video surveillance camera at first.SOLUTION: When a first thermostat is operated, a heater element in the housing is stopped. When a second thermostat is stopped, the heater element is operated. When the second thermostat is operated and a heater timer is ON, the heater element is operated. When the second thermostat is operated and a manual request of the heater is received, the heater element is operated and the heater timer is turned to ON, and the heater element is stopped when the manual request of the heater is not received. When temperature becomes higher than a first and a second preset temperature for about 5 degrees, the first thermostat and the second thermostat are operated, respectively.

    Abstract: A video surveillance camera enclosure that includes a camera housing for receiving a video surveillance camera chassis through a lower end.
