Abstract: PURPOSE:To easily add and revise an original size to be detected with respect to an original size detection mechanism in a copying machine or the like. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 1 for exclusively detecting an original size is provided in addition to a main body control CPU 2. The CPU 1 discriminates an original size based on the output data OUTF1-3, OUTC1-2. Then the CPU 1 converts the discriminated original size into original size codes DATA0-3 and transfer them to the main body control CPU 2. Then the distance between each light emitting element and each photoreceptor element is set equal to decrease the difference of a detected distance.

Distance sensors FD1-3, CD1-2 including position detecting elements are used for the original size detecting sensors. The CPU1 discriminates an original size based on the output data OUTF1-3, OUTCD1-2. Then the CPU1 converts the discriminated original size into original size codes DATA0-3 and transfers them to the main body control CPU2. Then a main body control program is not required to be revised attended with revision of the detecting size and the addition of the detecting sensors.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain low power consumption by devising the circuit such that a drive current fed to an output transistor(TR) is changed dynamically in response to the degree as to whether a load is heavy or thereby eliminating a waste use of a power current even at a light load. CONSTITUTION:The circuit is provided with a drive current supply circuit B, which detects a difference between an output voltage of an input TR circuit A and an output voltage of an output TR circuit C and supplies a drive current in response to the result of detection to the output TR being a major component of the output TR circuit C. Thus, when the load is heavier, a difference between the output voltage of the input TR circuit A and the output voltage of the output TR circuit C gets larger and the drive current fed to the output TR is changed in response to the difference of the output voltage. Thus, the buffer circuit with small power consumption is realized.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify the process by providing a differential amplifier applying current conversion to a difference between an input voltage and a reference voltage given to an operational amplifier and supplying the current obtained by this conversion to the input of the operational amplifier and a control means controlling the operation/inoperation of the differential amplifier. CONSTITUTION:When a control means inactivates a differential amplifier 6, since no current flows to an input of an operational amplifier 2 from the differential amplifier 6, the gain is kept to a 1st value. When the control means activates the differential amplifier 6 on the other hand, since a current based on the difference between an input voltage and a reference voltage flows to the input of the operational amplifier 2, the the gain is kept to a 2nd value which is different from the 1st value. When a high level voltage is given as a switching voltage Vs, since a transistor(TR) Q12 is turned on, a 3rd current mirror circuit 11 is turned off, resulting that a 2nd current mirror circuit 10 is turned off. This means that TRs Q7, Q8 are turned off, resulting in inactivating the differential amplifier 6. Thus, the process is simplified.

A compensation current ic corresponding to the change in the input voltage Vi is generated by a compensation circuit 15 and the compensation current ic is fed to the common emitter of the TRs Q11, Q12 via a line l1. Thus, the maximum value of output currents IC11, IC12 of the TRs Q11, Q12 is limited below the current I0 in the balanced state.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a highly accurate range finding output over a wide finding range by individually providing light receiving sections for measuring long and short distances, respectively, comparing outputs from two detecting circuits, and making an automatic switching based on the comparison results. CONSTITUTION:Semiconductor position detecting elements(PSD) 5a, 5b are provided, respectively, with light receiving amount detecting circuits 21a, 21b for individually detecting photocurrents flowing through the PSD 5a, 5b. The detecting circuit 21 is constituted to obtain long distance information as compared with the detecting circuit 21b. A read-in control circuit 31 comprises means 32 for comparing output results from the detecting circuit 21b with a predetermined reference output range and delivering decision result to a switching means 33. When the comparing means 32 makes a decision that the output signal from the detecting circuit 21b deviates from the predetermined reference output range, the switching means 33 determines the distance of an object to be detected based on the output signal and makes automatic switching to the detecting circuit 21a thus reading the detection results again.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical transmitter-receiver without disturbing communication of other optical transmitter-receiver by reducing harmonic components included in a frequency spectrum of an optical signal emitted from a transmission section. SOLUTION: In the case of using an infrared ray transmitter-receiver 1 as a transmitter, switches SW1, SW2 are turned to the position of terminals (2), (2') respectively to incorporate a band pass filter 5 into a part of a transmission section. A digital transmission signal received from an input terminal A passes through the band pass filter 5 to eliminate harmonics included in the frequency spectrum of a subcarrier. A driver 4 blinks an LED 3 depending on its output signal to allow the LED 3 to emit an infrared ray externally as an optical signal. In the case of using the infrared ray transmitter-receiver 1 or a receiver using a photo diode 6 as a light receiving section, the switches SW1, SW2 are turned to the position of terminals (1), (1') respectively to incorporate the band pass filter 5 into a part of a reception section.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To achieve an accurate measurement of the density of a color toner on a photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:Three photodetectors 31, 32 and 33 arranged facing image non- formation areas of a photosensitive drum have spectroscopic sensitivities respectively in wavelength areas of red light, green light and blue light. In the measurement of the concn. of cyanide toner adhering to the image non-formation areas of the photosensitive drum, signals are outputted to a first division circuit 41 corresponding to quantities of light of the red light and green light received with the photodetectors 31 and 32 and the ratio of the signals is computed with the first division circuit 41. The results of the computation of the first division circuit 41 are stored into a memory section 43 selectively. The results of the subsequent computation of the first division circuit 41 are compared with those of the first division circuit 41 stored in the memory section 43 by a comparative computation section 44.
