    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of exhibiting excellent adhesiveness to both a woven fabric and a soft film made of a polyolefin, useful in the field of packing of plastic base and a disposable article by including a specific conjugated diene polymer. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) a poly-1-butene polymer, (B) a tackifier resin and (C) 3-25 wt.% of a (semi)liquid (partially) hydrogenated conjugated diene polymer having =75 wt.% hydrogenation ratio). Preferably the composition has 20-60 wt.% of the component A, 30-75 wt.% of the component B, a fixed amount of the component C and (D) 0-5 wt.% of a stabilizer such as an antioxidant.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressure-sensitive adhesive composition free from a low-molecular-weight substances irritating to the skin and excellent in releasability and shearing properties. SOLUTION: This composition comprises a linear or multi-arm styrene/ isoprene/styrene block copolymer (a) containing at least two styrene/isoprene arms having an overall arm absolute weight-average molecular weight of 33,000-100,000 and having a polystyrene content of 18-30wt.% and the Mw (weight-average molecular weight) of the polystyrene block of 11,000-20,000, a styrene/isoprene diblock copolymer (b) having an Mw of 33,000-100,000, a polystyrene content of 18-30wt.% and the Mw of the polystyrene block of 11,000-20,000 and a styrene/isoprene diblock copolymer (c) having an Mw of 20,000-40,000, a polystyrene content of 10-25wt.% and the Mw of the polystyrene block of 4,000-7,000. The (a)/(b) ratio is 1:4 to 1:1 by weight, and the (a+b)/(c) ratio is 1:1 to 1:4 by weight.

    Abstract: The invention provides pressure-sensitive adhesive compositions comprising (a) a linear or multiarm styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymer containing at least two styrene-isoprene arms having overall absolute arm weight average molecular weight in the range from 33,000 to 100,000, polystyrene content in the range from 18 to 30%w, and polystyrene block weight average molecular weight in the range from 11,000 to 20,000, (b) a styrene-isoprene diblock copolymer having weight average molecular weight in the range from 33,000 to 100,000, polystyrene content in the range from 18 to 30%w, and polystyrene block weight average molecular weight in the range from 11,000 to 20,000, and (c) a styrene-isoprene diblock copolymer having weight average molecular weight in the range from 20,000 to 40,000, polystyrene content in the range from 10 to 25%w and polystyrene block weight average molecular weight in the range from 4000 to 7000, wherein the weight ratio (a):(b) is in the range from 1:4 to 1:1 and the weight ratio (a+b):(c) is in the range from 1:1 to 1:4; a process for preparing such a composition; pressure-sensitive adhesive laminae, e.g. tapes, patches or bandages; and a process for preparing such laminae.

    Abstract: A primer composition comprises a hydrogenated elastomeric block copolymer having at least two resinous endblocks of polymerised monovinyl aromatic compound, preferably styrene, and an elastomeric midblock of polymerised conjugated diene, preferably butadiene or isoprene, wherein the copolymer further includes an endblock compatible resin as well as a graft derived from an unsaturated monomer containing a functional group or derivative thereof, typically maleic anhydride. A method of bonding a material 14 to a metal strip 16 is also disclosed, which method comprises the steps of coating the metal strip with the primer 18, drying the primed metal strip, bending the primed metal strip into a desired shape, and applying the material to the primed metal strip. The primer is particularly useful in the construction of double glazed insulated windows.
