    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for treating the surface of a metallic continuous body and more particularly pickling a steel strip of a type having a treating path which is formed for the purpose of the metallic continuous body moving in a longitudinal direction and injection nozzles which are adjustable relative to the surface of the metallic continuous body and are connected to a nozzle pipe for supplying a treating liquid. SOLUTION: One section 3a of the treating path formed of a bottom enclosing wall 7 and sidewalls is segmented by a floating body 8 on an upper flank 3b. The injection nozzles 4 are respectively made adjustable from an acute injection state 9 in which the nozzles are respectively downwardly aligned to the direction of the metallic continuous body 1 until the nozzles arrive at the inside of the treating path 3 formed between the metallic continuous body and the floating body at an acute and shallow angle 10 in the injection direction 11 countering the moving direction of the metallic continuous body.
