Abstract: The wire roll stand includes two rolling rings (7, 8) which are mounted floatingly on two roll shafts (1, 2), and are axially clampable by means of distance rings (3, 4) against a shoulder (5, 6) of the respective shaft. The roll shafts are adjustable by means of eccentric sleeves (28, 29) held in a housing. Both the sleeves and the roll shafts are sealed against the housing walls. The roll stand is improved by the following facts: a) for the roll shafts (1, 2) the housing wall has openings provided with sealing rings (18, 19) with a U-shaped profile ; b) the distance rings have a U-shaped profile, and are divided at least into two parts by separating surfaces within the profile bridge elements (11, 12); c) the housing wall is provided with blind bores (20, 20') which serve for supply of pressurised water, and have outlet openings (21, 21').
