Abstract: A tape cassette comprises a supply and a take-up reel on which tape is wound, a cassette casing for rotatably enclosing the reels therein, a plurality of tape guide pins, each being press-fitted through the inner wall of the casing, for defining a tape path for the tape travelling between the pair of reels. The press-fit section of each guide pin is formed in a predetermined taper in such a manner as to gradually decrease its outer diameter towards its end. The straight press-fit section of the guide pin is formed in such a manner as to include a predetermined geometry of chamfered circumference at its end. In a tape guide pin used in conjunction with a tape guide roller, grease having a predetermined viscosity coefficient is disposed between the associated pin and roller. An electrical insulating cover is provided for surrounding the exposed underside of the electrically conductive lower half of the casing.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a stable tape tension with a simple constitution by interposing grease, whose viscous resistance is in a prescribed range at a prescribed temperature, between a pair of follower rolls and respective shafts. CONSTITUTION:Grease 24 whose coefficient of viscosity is 50 to 500 poises at -10 to 60 deg.C temperature is interposed between follower rolls 16 and 17 and shafts 18 and 18. Since follower rolls 16 and 17 are rotated against the viscous resistance of grease 24 at the time of running of a drive belt 25 by this constitution, the drive belt 25 has a low tension in the position between a driving roll 15 and the follower roll 16 and has a high tension in the position between the driving roll 15 and the follower roll 17, and the tape tension is stabilized in a proper range because the tension proportional to the belt tension difference acts on a tape 7 as the tape tension.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the winding disturbance of a tape at the outer circumferential part of a tape winding matter by fixing with contraction both end parts of an elastic belt-shaped film in its lengthwise direction into a distance shorter than the total length of both ends so that these end parts are swelled toward the tape winding matter. CONSTITUTION:In an REW mode a supply reel 2 is revolved toward an arrow head C and a magnetic tape 4 is rewound round the outer circumference of the reel 2. Thus the winding diameter of the reel 2 is gradually increased. A belt- shaped film 11 is put into a cassette housing 1 to oppose to the outer circumference of a tape winding matter 4a so that the tip part 14a of a swell 14 is pressed elastically to the outer circumference of the matter 4a. This prevents the loose winding of the tape 4 and then prevents the winding disturbance of the tape 4 produced at its outer circumference layer part 4a'.
