Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify manufacturing by boring a through hole to a plate-like member and cutting a channel plate from the plate-like member all at once. SOLUTION: One face 52A of a glass plate 52 is powder beam processed with a second resist layer 54 used as a mask, thereby forming a plurality of through holes 52E which become through hole-shaped ink channel parts of a channel plate 41 and a plurality of second through holes 52F which become positioning pin insertion holes. At the same time, an inside part of the glass plate 52 is cut off correspondingly to each third opening part 54C of the resist layer 54. As a result, every one sheet of the channel plate 41 is separately formed corresponding to each ink channel 52D like a recessed part of the glass plate 52. Subsequently, the glass plate 52 is cleaned in a state where the glass plate is attached to a substrate 50, thereby removing the resist layer 54 from on the one face 52A. A heat release sheet 51 is heated to foam the side of one face 51A, and then each channel plate 41 is released separately from the sheet 51.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a manufacturing method for print head in which resource efficiency can be enhanced significantly at the time of mass production. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method for print head, a sheet of piezoelectric material is secured temporarily on one side of a substrate with reference to a positioning through hole 64H and subjected to separation machining into first shape corresponding to a piezoelectric element 55 while preventing one side of the substrate from being cut by abrasive grains being blown thereto at the time of etching. Since the substrate can be reused at the time of mass production, resource efficiency can be enhanced significantly in manufacturing a print head.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a pressure chamber or a through hole in a channel plate finely and precisely by blowing abrasive grains of specified means grain size to the surface being machined of a matter to be machined thereby etching the surface being machined and forming a pressure chamber and a through hole in one surface of a planar member. SOLUTION: A channel plate is manufactured by making a nozzle of through hole and a through hole 50C or a recess of ink channel, e.g. a pressure chamber, in one surface 50A of a glass plate 50 by powder beam machining. In powder beam etching, abrasive grains having mean grain size of 24 μm or less are blown to the surface to be machined. An ink jet head is manufactured by pasting a diaphragm and a piezoelectric actuator comprising a piezoelectric element, while positioning, on one surface of the channel plate. According to the method, a pressure chamber and an ink channel, e.g. a nozzle, can be formed with high accuracy without causing fluctuation in the width, length or depth.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a printer having a plurality of pressure generating means for one ink chamber at low cost without complicating the manufacturing process even in case of small quantity variety production. SOLUTION: A diaphragm 113 is mounted on one major surface of a channel plate having a recess opening toward the one major surface and each ink chamber 114 is formed thereon. At least one piezoelectric film 162 and electrode 163 are laminated sequentially on the diaphragm 113 at a position corresponding to each ink chamber 114 and then the electrode 163 is divided into a plurality of sections at a predetermined position by means of a diamond blade 164, for example. The piezoelectric film 162 is arranged on the diaphragm after being shaped specifically by sand blast or printed on the diaphragm at a specified position thereof.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily execute the fine adjustment by canceling the force to be applied to a screw to be adjusted, using another clearance adjustment screw existing at the same side when observed from a center, as a stopper, and preventing the sudden change of the frictional force in the unscrewing of a clearance adjustment screw. SOLUTION: At first, a clearance adjustment screw 12b is fastened until the clearance to a track base does not exist for unscrewing a clearance adjustment screw 12a. By this operation, the force to be applied to the clearance adjustment screw 12b from the track base can be reduced, and the static frictional force of the screw is reduced. Then the clearance adjustment screw 12a is unscrewed. On this occasion, as the clearance adjustment screw 12b acts as a stopper, the clearance adjustment screw 12a can be lightly unscrewed, and further the sudden application of the force to the unscrewing direction immediately after the unscrewing can be prevented. Finally, the track base 12 is stopped at a position where it is contacted with the clearance adjustment screw 12a by unscrewing the clearance adjustment screw 12b.

According to the method, generation of bubble between the adhesive layer 16 and the oscillation layer can be prevented at the time of pasting the piezoelectric layer laminated, on the opposite sides thereof, with the first and second conductor layers 21, 22 to a diaphragm 14.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing head which prevents the image quality of a print image from being deteriorated and improves the reliability of the image quality sufficiently in practical use applications, as well as a method for manufacturing the printing head. SOLUTION: The printing head 40 is equipped with a displacement means which displaces the appropriate region of a vibrating plate welded to block a pressure chamber 41C and a common flow path 41D, into the pressure chamber 41C. The vibrating plate is located on one of the face sides of the flow path plate, on one of the faces of which the pressure chamber 41C and the common flow path 41D for supplying ink to the pressure chamber 41C are formed. In addition, protruding support parts 41E which are almost as high as one of the faces of the flow path plate are provided in the common flow path 41D of the flow path plate. Further the vibrating plate is welded on one of the face sides of the flow path plate, on one of the faces of which the pressure chamber 41C and the common flow path 41D for supplying ink to the pressure chamber 41C are formed in such a way that the pressure chamber 41C and the common flow path 41D are blocked. In the method for manufacturing the printing head 40 as described, the first step to manufacture the flow path plate by forming the pressure chamber 41C, the common flow path 41D and the protruding support parts 41E of almost the same height as one of the faces of a platelike member in the common flow path 41D, on one of the faces of the platelike member and a second step to weld the vibrating plate on one of the faces of the flow path plate, are provided.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange nozzles of small diameter at high density while preventing deterioration of image quality by blowing abrasive grains having specified mean grain size to the face being machined of an article and etching the face being machined thereby making nozzles of through hole in a thin plate and forming a nozzle plate. SOLUTION: The nozzle plate 43 of an ink jet print head is manufactured by making through holes 50C in one side 50A of a glass plate 50 by powder beam machining. The face being machined is etched by blowing abrasive grains having mean grain size of 24 μm or less through powder beam machining. Nozzles 43A of a nozzle plate 43 can be formed finely and highly accurately without causing any fluctuation in the shape or size. Consequently, the nozzles can be formed finely at high density while preventing fluctuation in the quantity of ink being ejected from respective nozzles.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a manufacturing method of print head in which an print image can be stabilized by preventing deterioration of a print image. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of print head comprises a first step for laminating first and second conductor layers consisting of conductive material on the opposite sides of a piezoelectric layer, a second step for forming an adhesive layer 16 of paste-like conductive adhesive mixed with a large number of conductive particles 16X having substantially constant grain size onto the second conductor layer, and a third step for pasting a piezoelectric element 15 onto an oscillation layer by pasting the second conductor layer onto the oscillation layer through the adhesive layer 16. Since the displacement of the piezoelectric layer for the potential difference between the first and second conductor layers is constant at all times, the size of an ink drop being ejected from a nozzle corresponding to the piezoelectric layer can be balanced resulting in a manufacturing method of print head in which a print image can be stabilized by preventing deterioration of a print image.

SOLUTION: A first conductor layer 51 is formed on one surface of a piezoelectric green sheet 50, it is sintered and polarized in the thickness direction, one surface of the sheet 50 is pasted one surface of a vibration board 44, the other surface of the sheet 50 is cut on the whole to about 10 μm or more thick, a second conductor layer 52 is laminated on the other surface of the sheet 50 to form a multilayer board 53 composed of the vibration board 44, the first conductor layer 51, the sheet 50 and the second conductor layer 52, and the second conductor layer 52 of the multilayer board 53 is patterned, corresponding to each of pressure chambers 41C of the passage board 41 in the same pattern as that of each upper electrode layer 47 of a piezoelectric actuator 42.
