    Abstract: PURPOSE: To reduce the noise generated in a driving system by a method wherein the speed of the movement of a recording-reproducing part to the direction of the radius of a disk-shaped recording medium is made smaller in recording than that in reproduction. CONSTITUTION: In the case of recording, a system controller 19 discriminates whether a mode is stereophonic or monophonic, on the basis of a signal from a terminal 66. According to a drive signal from a loading motor control circuit 22 generated on the basis of a control signal corresponding to the mode, a loading motor 14 makes a magnetic head 28 move to a position in proximity to an optical disk 12. A servo circuit being switched over by a switch simultaneously, the speed of rotation of a feed motor 21 is controlled to be about 1/2 or 1/3 of that at the time of a reproducing operation, corresponding to the monophonic or stereophonic mode, and thereby the speed of movement of a pickup 15 and the magnetic head 28 in the direction of the radius of the disk is decreased by a feed mechanism using a feed motor 21 as a drive source. By this constitution, the noise generated in the feed mechanism using the feed motor 21 as the drive source can be reduced.

CONSTITUTION: A voltage of the battery 33 is fetched into a system controller 11, where judgement is performed as to whether a battery capacity is enough or not. At the time of judging the battery capacity, detecting width of the battery voltage is changed for the recording time and the reproducing time. Consequently, judgement as shortage of the capacity is prevented from happening for a battery which still has remained capacity at the recording time, due to an effect of a temporary drop of the battery voltage at the time of starting intermittent recording.

When the 2nd mode is selected, the audio signal gain (level) is reduced by the variable gain amplifier composing the line-input circuits or the AGC circuit. Or a clearance is maintained between the AGC limit level and the maximum input level by lowering the limit level of the AGC.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress distortion of a reproducing sound at the time of adjusting a low-frequency sound in the sound reproducing device such as an MD(minidisk) reproducing device, etc., without causing a raise in the cost of the device. SOLUTION: A digital sound signal modulated by an RF signal from an optical head 3 is supplied via an RF amplifier 5 to a DSP(digital signal processor) 6 to be processed. The digital sound signal from the DSP 6 is supplied to a D/A converter 7 to be converted into an analog sound signal. A low-frequency sound adjusting switch 11 is capable of a changeover among three positions of 0, 1 and 2, and when the changeover is made to the position 0, the low-frequency sound adjustment is turned off in the D/A converter 7, and an instruction of a normal sound volume is issued to the DSP 6 by a system control part 10. When the low-frequency adjusting switch 11 is switched over to the position 1 or 2, the low-frequency sound is strengthen to raise its level by about 4 dB or about 9 dB at 100 Hz in the D/A converter 7, and simultaneously, the DSP 6 is instructed to lower the sound volume by 2 dB by a system control part 10, and hence the sound volume is lowered by 2 dB over the whole frequency band by the DSP 6.
