    Abstract: [Problem] To provide an information processing device and an information processing method whereby a convenient clipping process can be achieved. [Solution] The image processing device is equipped with a storage section, an output section, and a generating section. The storage section associates marking information, constituted of user-appended information, to location information within an entire image of any one resolution from among entire images of a single subject that have been respectively generated at a plurality of different resolutions, and to information about at least one resolution of the entire image, and stores the location information and the information about resolution, with which the marking information has been associated, as information about the recording location and the recording resolution, respectively. The output section outputs an image of at least part of the entire image of any one resolution, for display as an image targeted for output. The generating section clips, from the image targeted for output, an image of an area within the image targeted for output, which area includes the recording location with which the marking information has been associated, and thereby generates a clipped image.
