Abstract: A cathode ray tube having an optical filter disposed between the face panel of the cathode ray tube and a safety glass plate for preventing external light from being passed therethrough to the face panel and transparent resin injected between the face panel and the safety glass plate to secure the safety glass plate and the optical filter to the cathode ray tube in front of the face panel thereof. The optical filter is composed of a laminated element composed of alternate transparent layers and dark layers, the direction of extension of the laminations being substantially parallel to the face panel of the tube, i.e., with the contacting faces of each layer of the laminations being at right angles to the face panel or at a substantial angle thereto.

Abstract: A UHF-VHF combination tuner is provided with a rotatable turret having a plurality of tuning segments for receiving VHF and UHF signals, respectively, which are sequentially arranged around the turret for being selectively disposed at an operative position. Each tuning segment for the VHF signal includes at least an oscillating coil which, when the respective segment is at the operative position, forms part of a local oscillator provided for conversion of the respective VHF signal to an IF signal. Each tuning segment for the UHF signal includes a potentiometer which, when the respective segment is at the operative position, controls a variable reactance element of a local oscillator provided for conversion of the respective UHF signal to an IF signal. Further, the tuning segments have rotatable pinions by which the inductance of the oscillating coil or the voltage dividing ratio of the potentiometer may be varied, as the case may be, and a fine tuning device is provided with a drive gear adjacent the operative position for driving engagement with the pinion of the tuning segment selectively disposed at the operative position.

Abstract: COORDINATE POSITION DIGITIZING SYSTEM A coordinate position digitizing system comprises a position determining plate having a plurality of conductors extending parallel with one another at regularly spaced intervals, driving and controlling means for supplying with a constant current selectively to the conductors one after another within a horizontal scanning period in relation to a cathode ray tube which is used with the system, magnetic flux detecting means for detecting magnetic flux on the position determining plate, band pass filter means provided to be supplied with the output of the magnetic flux detecting means for eliminating a noise component resulting from magnetic flux of the deflection magnetic field provided to the cathode ray tube from the output of the magnetic flux detecting means supplied thereto, and information producing means for producing positional data defining a position of the magnetic flux detecting means on the position determining plate in response to the time having lapsed from a instant at which one or the conductors located at the starting end of the position determining plate is supplied with the constant current in the horizontal scanning period to another instant at which an output of the band pass filter means first crosses over a predetermined level in a predetermined direction in the same horizontal scanning period.

Abstract: A coordinate position digitizing system comprises a position determining plate having a plurality of first parallel strip electrodes provided on one surface of a insulating layer to form plural groups thereof each connected in common and a plurality of second parallel electrodes each having the width wider than that of each of the first electrodes and provided on the other surface of the insulating layer to extend in the direction perpendicular to the first electrodes, a detecting electrode provided to face to the surface of the insulating layer on which the first electrodes are provided and connected through a predetermined capacitance to a reference potential point for producing a signal in response to a voltage obtained thereat, driving and controlling means for supplying with a constant voltage selectively to the groups of the first electrodes one after another during a first period and also supplying with the constant voltage selectively to the second electrodes one after another during a second period, and means for producing positional data defining positions of the detecting electrode on the position determining plate in both the direction of arrangement of the first electrodes and the direction of arrangement of the second electrodes in response to the signal derived from the detecting electrode.
