Abstract: PURPOSE:To decrease the number of key tops and to miniaturize a device by generating the key codes in response to the operations of key tops to which the key codes are assigned and then deciding these key codes via deciding means. CONSTITUTION:The encoders 15R-18R and 15L-18L generate the key codes corresponding to the operations of rotary key tops 11Rb-14Rb and 11Lb-14Lb to which plural key codes are assigned. These key codes generated by the encoders are decided with operations of tact switches 11Ra-14Ra and 11La-14La. As a result, the number of key tops is decreased and a compact device is obtained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain printing quality similar to that of letterpress printing or intaglio printing by irradiatiang the desired point of the capillary plate layer of a drum with a laser beam transmitted through a translucent inner cylinder to hold liquefied ink in the pores of the capillary plate layer corresponding to the image of one page and thermally transferring this image of one page to paper. CONSTITUTION:A drum 10 wherein a capillary plate layer 19 having many pores formed thereto is provided on the outer peripheral surface of a light pervious inner cylinder 18 and the ink roller 20 being in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the drum 10 and holding ink liquefied by heat on the outer peripheral surface thereof are provided. An optical head 57 heatiang the desired point of the capillary plate layer 19 by a laser beam is so supported on the side of the inner periphery of the drum 10 as to be movable in the axial direction of the drum 10. Further, a head sending motor 53 and a screw shaft 52 both of which move the optical head 57 in connection with the rotation of the drum 10 and a heating roller 12 thermally transferring the ink held in the pores of the capillary plate layer 19 to paper are provided. As a result, printing quality similar to that of letterpress printing or intaglio printing can be obtained.

SOLUTION: A mouse body is provided with a first operation button for soft keyboard display as a character input button and a second operation button 110 for character designation. The operation button 110 is composed of four operation buttons. A personal computer body is equipped with soft keyboard function. Using the soft keyboard and a click button of the mouse, a row of Japanese syllabic sounds is designated. A first syllabic sound in the same row (a vowel "a" and consonants having these vowels) is designated using the click button. Four Japanese syllabic sounds other than this (four vowels other than the "a" and four consonants having these vowels) are designated using corresponding operation buttons 110a to 110b (one of the four buttons). Characters are sequentially designated to create a simple sentence only by the operation of a mouse. When the mouse is of a wireless type, a person can create a sentence without using any keyboard of the personal computer body even from a place apart from the personal computer body while sitting on a sofa or the like. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prolong the life of a battery built in a mouse. SOLUTION: A tact switch 24 is provided for detecting whether or not a mouse body 12 has been operated. When a switch is on with the body 12 slightly tilted forward, the operation of the body is detected. When the operation of the body is detected, excitation voltage coming from a power supply 19 is supplied to a light emitting element 18a which constitutes an optical sensor mens within the body; when the operation of the body is not detected, the supply of the excitation voltage is stopped after a predetermined period of time elapses.
