    Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate a drop-out phenomenum and to improve the vertical image resolution of a static picture even when the run of a tape is started or stopped for acquisition of the memory output when the static picture software is reproduced by using a mode changeover switch for the static picture software. CONSTITUTION:When a static picture software switch 2 is pushed, a static picture software mode signal is inputted to the interlock switches 7 and 9 from a controller 6 via a latch circuit 4. The switch 7 is usually set at the (a) side to secure a line interpolation state so as to evade the deterioration of reproduction of the time-varying images. Then the switch 7 is changed at the (b) side when a static picture software mode signal 100 received from the controller 6 is kept at an H level. Thus the frame interpolation is assured. Meanwhile the switch 9 is usually set at the (h) side and secures a field still state so as to evade the deterioration of reproduction of the still pictures in a time-varying image state. Then the switch 9 is changed to the (g) side to secure a frame still state when a static picture software mode signal 102 sent from the controller 6 is kept at an H level. Thus, the vertical image resolution of the still pictures can be doubled.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To accomplish various additive functions by utilizing an index part of a video tape effectively. CONSTITUTION:Character information is recorded in an index part of a video tape in advance. The character information is read out of the index part of the video tape 12 by a magnetic head 1, and is decoded into character information capable of displaying by a decoder 5. The character information from the decoder 5 is superimposed upon an output from a video signal reproducing processing circuit 3 with a changeover circuit 8 when the character information is required to be displayed as occasion demands from the user by a control means 10. By this method, the character information is displayed in addition to the video signal. Then, when the character information is not required to be displayed, the changeover circuit 8 is controlled, so as to output the video signal only.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect the mounting of a different characteristic tape cassette and to inhibit the recording with no identify of characteristics by providing an aperture in the position of a detecting hole for preventing an erroneous recording provided to a tape cassette housing and providing also a detecting means for preventing the erroneous recording on the other part. CONSTITUTION:Reels 11 and 12 are disposed in the tape cassette housing 1, and a magnetic tape 13 is mounted to be wound up. The aperture 2 is provided at the lower side of this housing 1 in the corresponding position to the detecting hole for preventing the erroneous recording as provided to the conventional cassette housing. Then, a new detecting means 3 for preventing the erroneous recording is provided on the lower side of the housing 1 in a different but right and left symmetrical position to the aperture 2, and a new detecting part 4 for indicating the mounting of the magnetic tape is also provided on the lower side of the housing 1 in the middle part. Then, when the tape cassette is started to operate, the presence of the detecting part 4 is discriminated, so as to identify the new cassette in case of presence or the conventional cassette in case of absence, and moreover the recordability is discriminated by the presence of the detecting means 3.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To supply proper powers to even many kinds or video cameras different in supply voltages by generating a supply voltage corresponding to the control resistance in the video camera from a video deck through a composite cable. CONSTITUTION:A video deck 1 and a video camera 3 are connected by a composite cable 2 having power supply lines and control lines. The value of a control resistor 41 in the video camera 3 is transmitted to the video deck 1 through a control line 33. Reference voltages 16 and 17 are changed in accordance with this value of the control resistor 41 by a control circuit 18 of the video deck 1. Then, the supply voltage having a proper value is sent from the video deck 1 to the video camera 3 through power supply lines 31 and 32.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To control a correct tracking lock position for a rotary head at all times by controlling a phase relation between a reproduction control signal and a reference signal depending on a deviation between an identified segment position and a segment position causing a proper tracking position. CONSTITUTION:A reproduction control signal CTL from a waveform shaping circuit 44 is fed to a phase comparator means 72 via a variable delay means 71. Moreover, a phase reference signal REF from a terminal 35 is fed to the comparator means 72 and its phase comparison error output is fed to a motor drive circuit 45 via an adder circuit 74. Furthermore, the reproduction control signal CTL from the circuit 44 is fed to an arithmetic operation processing means 75. The processing means 75 detects a segment number position on which a rotary head makes scanning based on the reproduction control signal CTL and a segment identification signal from a segment ID extract circuit 62. Furthermore, a tracking scanning deviation is detected based on outputs of envelope detection circuits 61A, B and the means 75 decides properly the delay time of the means 71.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To surely inhibit copying of video signals upon which a spurious signal, which is superimposed upon the video signals in an interleave relation, is superimposed by inhibiting recording operations when the spurious signal is detected at the time of reproducing the video signals. CONSTITUTION:In the recording system 2 of a VTR 1, analog luminance signals Y and color difference signals PR and PB from a decoder, another VTR, etc., are supplied to the VTR 1. The color difference signals PR and PB are respectively supplied to a recording signal process circuit 6 through terminals 3 and 4 and the luminance signals Y are supplied to the circuit 6 and a detection circuit 7 through a terminal 5. The detection circuit 7 detects whether or not a spurious signal SSP which is used as a copy inhibit signal is superimposed upon the signals Y in an interleave relation and, when the spurious signal SSP is detected, supplies, for example, a high-level signal to a controller 8 as a detect signal. As a result, a control signal Sc which inhibits the recording operations of the processing circuit 6 is supplied to the circuit 6.
