Abstract: PURPOSE:To allow a video camera which has the advantage of both an optical and an electronic viewfinders, by incorporating both viewfinders in the video camera, and using either one through the switching of an optical path changeover mirror. CONSTITUTION:To use the optical viewfinder, the movable mirror 10 is positioned as shown by an imaginary line. For this purpose, a switch 13 turned on by the movable mirror 10 is provided and used to turn on-off the power source for the electronic viewfinder, i.e. a CRT11, its deflection system, video signal processing circuit, etc.; when the switch 13 is turned on, the power suurce is turned off and when the switch 13 is turned off by the movement of the movable mirror 10 to a solid line, the power source for the electronic viewfinder is turned off.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain interchangeability between a large-sized cassette tape and a small-sized cassette tape and to improve recording and reproducing performance by constituting a small-sized cassette tape recording and reproducing system for a large-sized cassette tape recording and reproducing system, and using tapes of the same size and forming recording patterns and pilot signals in specular-surface symmetrical relation. CONSTITUTION:Recording and reproducing systems 10 and 20 consist of a portable TV camera 1 which incorporates a magnetic recording device 2 for S cassette tapes 3, a magnetic recording and reproducing device 4 dedicated to S tapes, a TV receiver 5, a magnetic transferring machine 9 which performs magnetic transfer from an S tape to an L tape, a TV screen 7, and a VTR for L tapes. Through a magnetic head H and a rotating roll R, the recording pattern of an S tape 3 is transferred to an L tape 9 of the same size in specular-surface symmetrical relation, and tracks ch-1 and ch-2 for audio signals and a track for a signal CTL for removing a wow and flutter of audio signals are formed over and under a video signal along both edges. Thus, interchangeability is obtained and the performance of the recording and reproducing system is improved.
