    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent and cancel screen burning generated due to the projection of a picture whose aspect rate is 4:3, in a television receiver having a screen with a picture frame whose aspect rate is 16:9. CONSTITUTION:The television receiver having the screen with the picture frame whose aspect rate is 16:9 in which the picture whose aspect rate is 3:4 can be projected in plural display modes, is provided with a blanking signal generating means, control means which controls the blanking signal generating means, and data bus being an information transmitting means. Each time a power source is applied, the generating timing of a blacking signal generated by the blanking signal generating means is shifted. Also, when preliminarily decided special information is inputted, the control means controls a deflecting means 12 and the blanking signal generating means 11, the display area and non-display area of a display mode until the just previous time are inverted, and beam scanning and aging are operated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the luminance of an image by minimizing the degradation of a peak spot characteristic by providing a linearity correcting circuit and simultaneously executing the correction of linearity in the case of increasing the limiter level of a peak beam limit circuit. CONSTITUTION:This device is equipped with a picture correcting means 9 to adjust the contrast of video signals and the deepness of colors and a linearity correcting means 24 is provided to correct the linearity in a video processing circuit. High luminance adjustment is executed by switching the limiter reference level of a peak beam limiting means 14 in the adjusting means 9 to adjust the contrast and the deepness of colors while being interlocked with the linearity correcting means 24. Namely, the limiter level of the driving signal of a CRT is increased by controlling the linearity correction circuit 24 while being interlocked with the ON/OFF operation of a high luminance (high brightness) switching means. Thus, the degradation of the peak spot characteristic is minimized, the luminance of the image is increased, and intermediate luminance can be increased without increasing a beam current SIGMAIk.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To avoid an error in a setting operation by projecting a setting screen on the master screen by means of a PoP function at the time of a setting mode and projecting the symmetrical picture to be set on the slave screen. CONSTITUTION:When an input command for setting a channel comes, PoP (picture out picture) display is executed, switches 3A and 3B are changed over, the master screen is moved to the slave screen and simultaneously changed-over to a video input and, at this time, character information for setting the channel is supplied. When the channel is selected, the picture of the selected channel is projected on the slave screen and the new channel is simultaneously stored. When channel setting is completed, the master and slave screens are restored to an original state, PoP display is completed and a mode comes back to the normal display mode. Therefore, character information when the mode becomes the setting mode is displayed largely and clearly, key setting is executed while watching the screen of the selected channel and setting is surely operated.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain measurement of blood pressure readily through the operating sense of an audio visual device by adding a blood pressure measurement function to the audio-visual apparatus. SOLUTION: An operation section 3 is used to set the blood pressure measurement mode and when a sensor is mounted, a microcomputer 2 commands blood pressure measurement to a blood pressure measurement 1 and the measured value is outputted to the microcomputer 2. The microcomputer 2 converts the measured blood pressure into display data and outputted to a display section 5, on which a numeral and a graphic are displayed. Furthermore, when the operation section 3 sets the measurement value storage command, the microcomputer 2 stores the measured value to a storage medium section 4. When the operation section 3 selects the blood pressure read mode, the microcomputer 2 reads blood pressure data stored in the medium section 4 and converts the data into display data and outputted to the display section 5. Then the display section 5 displays a blood pressure value.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To suppress the unnecessary radiation of an electron beam by blanking the video signal in a period corresponding to the non-display part on the outside of display out of the screen having a normal aspect ratio at the time of the mode accompanied with deflection width extension in the vertical direction. CONSTITUTION:At the time of the zoom mode accompanied with deflection width extension in the vertical direction, a picture frame forming circuit 34 generates a vertical blanking signal S34 based on a vertical synchronizing signal V39 and a horizontal synchronizing signal H39. The signal H39 is counted by a counter incorporated in the circuit 34 under the control of a system control circuit 41 to generate this signal S34. This signal S34 is generated in a period corresponding to the non-display part on the outside of display on a receiver 36 out of the picture expanded in the vertical direction. Since the signal S34 is processed in a video signal processor 31 in preference to a receiver face display signal S41 from an MPU 41 which is superposed by an adder 35, the video signal is blanked on the receiver 36 in the period corresponding to the non-display part of the expanded screen to suppress unnecessary radiation of the electron beam.
