Abstract: VIDEO SIGNAL RECORDING AND REPRODUCING APPARATUS A video signal recording and reproducing apparatus used with a disc as recording medium comprises a head assembly, disc rotating means for rotating the disc in relation to the head assmbly, a signal path extending from an input terminal to which a video signal is supplied to be recorded to the head assembly, a first control circuit for controlling the disc rotating means so as to cause the disc to have the rotation varying in response to the phase of a synchronous signal, such as a horizontal synchronous signal in the video signal supplied to the input terminal, variable delay means provided in the signal path for delay the video signal supplied to the input terminal to vary the time base thereof, and a second control circuit for controlling the delay time in the variable delay means so as to cause the video signal derived from the variable delay means to have the time base varying in response to the phase of a reference signal, such as a horizontal reference signal reproduced from the disc through the head assembly.

A light beam is conducted through the focusing lens on to the record medium. A capture range search system is provided to move the focusing lens at a substantially constant speed from a rest position until it is positioned within the capture range of the focusing control system. The capture range search system includes a bridge circuit for sensing the moving speed of the focusing lens. The bridge circuit includes a moving coil of a drive motor for said focusing lens and a variable impedance element. The bridge circuit is balanced by controlling the variable impedance element when the lens is at the rest position.

Abstract: An optical information reproducing apparatus for reproducing an information recorded on a recording surface of a disc shape record medium is disclosed, which includes an optical pick-up device mounted on a tiltable optical block and having a laser beam source for generating a laser beam and a photo detector for detecting the reflected beam from the recording surface and for reproducing the recorded information, a device for rotating the record medium, a skew error detector for detecting a skew of the record medium relative to the optical pick-up device and for generating a skew error signal having a D.C. component and an A.C. component, a control circuit supplied with the skew error signal and for generating a control signal responsive to the D.C. component of the skew error signal, a skew error corrector controlled by the control signal and for controlling the optical block so that the optical axis of the pick up device is maintained to be always perpendicular to the recording surface. The above control circuit includes a comparator for comparing the level of the skew error signal with a threshold level and for generating an output pulse, the width of which corresponds to the D.C. component of the skew error signal, and a pulse width discriminator for discriminating the width of the output pulse relative to a reference pulse corresponding to a rotating period of the record medium.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution of a video disc player by synchronizing respectively a reproduced vertical synchronizing signal and a reproduced horizontal synchronizing signal to an external vertical synchronizing signal and an external horizontal synchronizing signal. CONSTITUTION:A phase locked loop PLL11 generates an auxiliary horizontal synchronizing signal FHS having a prescribed relation to a frequency of the external synchronizing signal. Then, a PLL control section 22 controls the PLL11 in response to the phase difference between the external vertical synchronizing signal FVO and the reproduced vertical synchronizing signal FV so as to change the relation between the frequencies of the signals FHS and FHO. Further, the phase between the signal FHS and the reproduced horizontal synchronizing signal FV is compared by a phase comparison section 17 and a drive control section 19 controls the rotation of a video disc based on an output of the result of the phase comparison. Then, the signals FH and FV are synchronized respectively by the external horizontal synchronizing signal FHO and the external vertical synchronizing signal.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To eliminate the influence of temperature fluctuations, a secular change, etc., by controlling automatic balancing by using a variable impedance element for one side of a bridge circuit which detects the moving speed of a condenser.
CONSTITUTION: A moving-speed detection voltage V obtained by finding a difference in voltage between the points B and C of a bridge circuit 21 by a subtracter 27 is accumulated in the hold capacitor 45 of a sample holding circuit 39 through a low-pass filter 44. The output of the sample holding circuit 39 is sent to a variable impedance element 38, and consequently a variable impedance element 38 is so controlled that the sample holding circuit 39 is balanced. If the output of a control oscillator 40 goes up to a high level in a bridge-balanced state, a changeover switch 41 is changed over to a contact 41b, and the switch 43 of the sample holding circuit 39 turns off, so that a condenser 10 fitted to a coil 20 approaches a disk at a constant speed.
