    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always, stably and simultaneously bring the head gap of plural unit heads into contact with a magnetic head by arranging and holding all of plural unit heads in a head supporting plate so as not to position on the same straight line. SOLUTION: The multichannel magnetic head device is composed of three unit magnetic heads 1-3, these unit magnetic head 1-3 are arranged in such a position that they mutually constitute a triangle on the head supporting plate 4, and unit magnetic heads 1-3 are not positioned on the straight line, whereby, the head and a magnetic tape 5 are brought into contact at three points by unit magnetic heads 1-3. By this way, even though spacing is brought about by vibration, since the head side is allowed to follow up spacing, unit magnetic heads 1-3 are easily and simultaneously brought into contact with the tape with excellent followup ability.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the disk cartridge and the disk drive device, capable of coping with high speed rotation of a discoid recording medium and having higher interchangeability with the conventional one. SOLUTION: The disk cartridge 1 is equipped with a cartridge main body, in which the discoid recording medium 5 is freely rotatably housed, a hub 7 fitted outward in a center hole of the discoid recording medium 5 and engaged with a disk driving means 60 and a hub supporting to the 12 fitted to an inner surface of the cartridge main body opposite to the hub 7. Since the hub 7 under the state of being engaged with the disk driving means 60 is held between this disk driving means 60 and the hub supporting body 12, floating and vibrating, etc., of the hub 7 are prevented in this disk cartridge, thus realizing the stable rotary drive for the discoid recording medium 5 under the high speed rotation.

Preferably, the magnetic heads 3 or the plates 4 or all of these are supported by elastic members in order to adjust pressing of the magnetic tape T by the magnetic heads 3.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve functionality by providing a selection means for selecting whether each head is used for the recording head or the reproducing head, and a mechanism for controlling the access of each head against an optional track. The figure (c) shows the structure provided with modularized well-known head structures in the plural used for a floppy disk drive, and this structure is formed so that the magnetic tape 4 is held between the heads 41 and hard pads 42 from the front and rear sides, and also the heads and the hard pads are integrally displaced in the breadthwise direction of magnetic tape 4 by voice coils 43 (access control mechanism), thereby positioning the head on the track of the magnetic tape 4.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the manufacturing cost for the disk cartridge capable of discriminating a different kind of disk cartridge due to existence of information display holes at plural spots in adjacent positions respectively and to select a storage capacity with the same cartridge which can be of plural kinds of storage capacities by altering a format. CONSTITUTION:The information display holes 21a (21c and 21d) at plural spots in adjacent positions are all provided, and also a slide switch 21b for sliding these holes is provided, and then a case for plural kinds of cartridges is obtained by sliding this switch 21b. Consequently, one metal mold is enough for the case, so that the manufacturing cost for the cartridge is reduced, and then the same cartridge can be made to be any of cartridges of plural kinds of storage capacities wherever possible.
