A disc cartridge housing a disc-shaped recording medium in its main cartridge body portion (5) is disclosed. The disc cartridge includes the main cartridge body portion having a circular medium housing section rotationally housing the disc-shaped recording medium and an opening (15, 16) for exposing at least a portion of the disc-shaped recording medium to outside, and first and second shutter members (25a,26) rotated along the major surface of the main cartridge body portion to open/close at least the opening (15, 16). The first shutter member (25a) is supported for rotation along the circular medium housing section provided on the main cartridge body portion. The second shutter member (25a, 26) is supported by the main cartridge body portion for rotation in conjunction with the rotation of the first shutter member. when the first shutter member is moved to a first position overlying the opening (15, 16), the second shutter member is intimately contacted with a lateral side of the first shutter member to overlie the opening. when the first shutter member is rotated to a position of exposing the opening (15, 16) , the second shutter member is rotated, along with the first shutter member, to a position of opening the above opening. Since the opening (15, 16) provided in the main cartridge body portion is opened/closed by the first and second shutter members (25a, 26) moved along the major surface of the main cartridge body portion, the opening can be larger in size than the main cartridge body portion. The large-sized opening is positively opened/closed by the first and second shutter members.

A disc cartridge housing a driving rotating unit and to be loaded along with the driving rotating unit on a recording and/or reproducing apparatus. A shutter mechanism (23) for opening/closing an opening (15,16) provided in a main cartridge body portion includes two shutter members (25, 26) movable along the major surface of the main cartridge body portion. An area in which the first shutter member and the second shutter member are moved is delimited by first and second wall sections arranged facing each other. The first and second shutter members are intruded into a spacing defined between the first and second wall sections. The first and second wall sections are arranged in the portions of the main cartridge body portion facing the major surface of the disc-shaped recording medium so that the wall sections face each other with a pre-set separation in-between. The main cartridge body portion is formed with first and second openings (15, 16) facing the first and second wall sections. These first and second openings can expose a portion of the signal recording region of the disc-shaped recording medium to outside across the inner and outer rims of the disc-shaped recording medium and allow the center of the disc-shaped recording medium to face outwards. The first and second shutter members are arranged for movement between the first and second wall sections. The second shutter member is rotated in association with the first shutter member by having its portion engaged and held by an engagement holding portion provided on said first shutter member.

A light reflection display method where light from a light emission portion is reflected at a light transmissible member so as to be displayed on the outside of the light transmissible member where the light emission portion cannot be directly provided. Light (L) generated by a light emission portion (30) is inputted into a flat plate-like light transmissible member (20) from a side face (31) of the light transmissible member (20). The light (L) is reflected by a light reflection portion (40) formed on one face of the light transmissible member (20). The light (L1) is then outputted outward for displaying from the other face of the light transmissible member (20).

There are provided a bracket (3) having a frame part (11) integrally formed by use of a transparent material, a device attachment part (12) provided on an inside edge of the frame part, and component attachment parts (13,13...) on outside edges of the frame part; a planar front panel (2) disposed in front of the bracket; a device body part (4) having a screen surface (4a) and attached to the device attachment part of the bracket; holding members (31,31) for holding the front panel and bracket that are coupled to each other before and behind; and function parts attached to the component attachment parts of the bracket and located outside the front panel for transmitting/receiving electric signals to provide predetermined functions. Signal paths (35,35) for performing transmission/reception of the electric signals between the device body part and the function parts are formed inside the bracket or in a border part between the front panel and the bracket. This can maintain an excellent design or style, while allowing transmission/reception of the electric signals between the device body part and the function parts.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of displaying light on the outside of a light-transmitting member by reflecting light as if the light of a light emitting part glitters on the light-transmitting member to which the light emitting part can not be directly provided. SOLUTION: The image display device comprising: a rectangular image display part 21 which displays an image on the front face of the device; a covering member 50 with which this image display part is confronted and which covers the periphery of this image display part in a frame form; and a transparent resin plate 20 the inside part of which is covered with this covering member and in which the outside part of this covering member is used as a rear see-through part permitting to see through the rear part of this device, comprises: a light reflecting part 40 which reflects light of a predetermined color almost ahead and displays a predetermined state; a light emitting part 30 which emits the light of this predetermined color progressing toward the light reflecting part; a light emitting part covered with the covering member so as not to be seen from the front; and a light leak preventive part 170 for preventing leak of the unreflected remaining light caused after the light reflecting part reflects the light.
