    Abstract: A data transmission apparatus ( eg for cable television) having unit modules 2-connected in cascade in a plurality (x; 2#x) of stages and a list converting means 14, wherein each of the unit modules has a recording and/or reproducing means, a first-list generating means for generating a first list indicating the data to be recorded in the recording and/or reproducing means, a second-list receiving means for receiving a second list indicating the data to be reproduced from the recording and/or reproducing means, and a data supplying means 124 for supplying the reproduced data to the next stage unit module; the recording and/or reproducing means of each of the unit modules records the data indicated in the first list generated by the first-list generating means among the data supplied from the outside and reproduces the data indicated in the second list received at the second-list receiving means; and the list converting means converts a first list generated by a first-list generating means of a y(2#y#x)th stage unit module to a second list and outputs the same to the second-list receiving means of all unit modules or some unit modules of the (y-1)th stage.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To configure a server system of specifications, in response to the scale of a broadcast station by freely combining unit modules of the same configuration. SOLUTION: A unit module 2a of a library section 12 and n-sets of unit modules 2b1 -2bn of a transmission section 18 are connected in cascade in two stages, the unit module 2a records all audio/video data used by the unit modules 2b1 -2bn and manages them. The unit modules 2b1 -2bn provide an output of a filing list denoting data sent to a broadcast channel to a copy manager 14, the copy manager 14 converts the filing list into a play list denoting audio video data which request reproduction and provides an output to the unit module 2a. The unit module 2a reproduces the audio/video data denoted by the play list entered from the copy manager 14 and gives them to the unit modules 2b1 -2bn .

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video transmission method capable of executing copying so as not to generate stagnation in the copying of other video programs even when an error is generated in the copying of the video program from a main server to a cache server. SOLUTION: A control part judges whether or not a first video program (of high priority) among the video programs as the objects of the copying is stored in the hard disk of the main server (step S82) and executes the copying of the other video program while performing error display for one hour when it is not present in the hard disk (step S83-step S86). When it is present in the hard disk, the copying is executed (step S87), and when the error is generated, the error display is performed for ten minutes (step S89) and the copying of the other video program is executed during the time (step S89-step S91).

All of received data are temporarily stored in a storage area A3, and after their validity is confirmed, a data update flag is set. After the received data are transferred to the storage area A1, the flag is cleared. After the CPU is reset, the data update flag is checked in recovery processing, and if the data update flag is set, data updating is completed based on the received data in the storage area A3.
