    Abstract: PURPOSE:To facilitate adjustment of white balance without changing brilliance characteristics of electron beam by providing a means that conforms the brilliance characteristic of two electron beams and a means that adjusts the amount of drive and cut off of two electron beams at the same characteristic. CONSTITUTION:Driving circuits 13R, 13G, 13G of respective cathode-ray tubes are provided in a projector, and red, green and blue primary color signals R, G, B are supplied to terminals 12R, 12G, 12B of respective circuits 13R, 13G, 13B. The terminal 12R is grounded by using a variable resistance VR10, and the output and potential adjusted by a variable resistance VR2 are added by an adder 14R1. An output of the resistance VR10 and the reference potential are added by an adder 14R2. Outputs of adders 14R1, 14R2 are applied to the first and second cathodes K1, K2 through variable gain amplifiers 15R1, 15R2. Cut off of electron is adjusted by a variable resistance VR11 connected to the amplifier 15R1 and the amount of drive is adjusted by the resistance VR2 and the brilliance characteristic of the electron beam is conformed. Circuits 13G, 13B are made to the same constitution.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a picture plane of high luminance with no deterioration in picture quality by making the space between two electron beams of a CRT containing a fluorescent substance having early luminance saturation longer than the space equivalent to the afterglow time of the fluorescent substance. CONSTITUTION:The space between electron beams Bm1 and Bm2 of a CRT is set longer than the space equivalent to the afterglow time of a fluorescent substance in order to prevent the early luminance saturation on the fluorescent surface of a CRT1B. Therefore a 2H delay line 31 is inserted to shift the space between beams Bm1 and Bm2 in the vertical direction by a (1/2+2) scan line space. While the space between electron beams of CRT1R and 1G is shifted by 1/2 scan line space. As a result, the luminance saturation is delayed to obtain a picture plane of high luminance. No deterioration is produced to the picture quality since no shift is given to the focus. In such a way, a picture plane of high luminance can be obtained with no deterioration in picture quality.
