Abstract: The channel selecting appts. tunes two tuning devices to preselected channels for receiving broadcast frequencies. Seiectively operable channel selecting circuitry is common to the devices for generating and supplying channel selector signals to the devices to determine their tuning condition. A control device selectively produces a lock-out control signal, and a locking device is coupled to the second tuning device. The locking device responds to the absence of the cock out control signal and enables the condition of the second tuning device to be determined by the selector signals simul taneously with conditioning the first tuning device.

Abstract: S01129 CHANNEL SELECTING APPARATUS FOR USE WITH SIGNAL RECEIVER AND SIGNAL RECORDER Channel selecting apparatus for use with a signal receiver coupled to a first tuning device and a signal recorder coupled to a second tuning device. The channel selecting apparatus is operable to tune the first and second tuning devices to preselected channels for receiving broadcast frequencies. In one embodiment, the signal receiver is a television receiver including a video display, and the signal recorder is a video recorder, such as a video tape recorder (VTR). Selectively operable channel selectors, such as selector switches, are common to the first and second tuning devices for generating and supplying channel selector signals to the tuning devices so as to determine the tuning condition of both tuning devices. A locking circuit is operative in response to the actuation of the VTR to lock the second tuning device to the tuning condition determined by the channel selector signal generated by the channel selector switches immediately prior to said actuation of the signal recorder regardless of the subsequent generation of different channel selector signals by the channel selecting switches. The locking circuit is operative in the absence of the actuation of the VTR to enable the tuning condition of the second tuning device to be determined by the channel selector signals which are generated by the channel selecting switches simultaneously with the determination of the tuning condition of the first tuning device. A switching circuit has first and second inputs coupled to the first and second tuning devices, respectively, to receive the channels to which the first -i-and second tuning devices are tuned, and an output coupled to the television receiver, the switching circuit being operative in the absence of the actuation of the VTR to connect the output of the switching circuit to the second input thereof. When the VTR is actuated, the switching circuit is operative to connect the output thereof to its first input. The broadcast frequency which is received by the second tuning device is supplied to the television receiver when the VTR is not actuated, and the broadcast frequency which is received by the first tuning device is supplied to the television receiver when the VTR is actuated. -ii-

Abstract: An audio-visual system allows a plurality of audio-visual devices to be interconnected for convenient operation from a single set of function keys. The system includes a first AV device and other connected AV devices connected so as to bidirectionally transfer data. Control data from connected devices are read by a CPU of the first device and written to a RAM memory portion of the first device. When a function key of the first device is operated, a connected device is operated according to the control data read therefrom and stored in the first device. A memory card incorporating control data for the external devices may further be accessed by the first AV device for reading control data for the external devices. A particular function key may control as many functions as there are connected devices in the AV system.

Abstract: A channel selecting apparatus for use with a video signal reproducer coupled to first and second tuners. An output is coupled to the signal receiver, characterized by a switching signal generator for generating a switching signal to control the switch, the switching signal being formed from the synchronizing signal contained in the output of said first or second tuners, whereby a signal of one field period supplied to the video signal reproducer is composed of the outputs of the tuners when the tuning conditions of tuners are adjusted by the first and second manual adjusters.

Abstract: A channel programing apparatus having first and second tuners, an image reproducing device, a recording and reproducing device and a timer. In this case, when the timer is in its set state the output signal from the first tuner is fed to the image reproducing device while the second tuner is made in such a state to select a predetermined channel. When a set time of the timer arrives, the signal applied to the image reproducing device is switched from the output signal of the first tuner to that of the second tuner by the signal derived from the timer.
