SOLUTION: In the voice input output device (microphone/loudspeaker integrated device), a plurality of directive microphones 1a, 1b, etc., are placed in front of a loudspeaker 6 so that the direction of the directivity is directed nearly orthogonal to a front axis of the loudspeaker 6, and a reflection member 4 for reflecting a sound outputted from the loudspeaker 6 in a direction nearly orthogonal to the front axis of the loudspeaker 6 and a separation member 3 parting the loudspeaker 6 from the directive microphones 1a, 1b, etc., are provided between the loudspeaker 6 and the directive microphones 1a, 1b, etc.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microphone-speaker integrated speech unit capable of detecting a direction of a sound source with high reliability. SOLUTION: A sound source unit direction particularizing processing means 255 detects a microphone which detects a highest level and a microphone which detects a second highest level (S311, 312). Further, a detection level difference between a pair of microphones is obtained (S313), whether or not the microphone adjacent to the microphone detecting the highest level detects the second highest level is checked, and in this case, whether or not the detection level difference between the pair of microphones is coincident with a prescribed pattern is checked. When coincident, it is determined that the sound source is present in the direction of the microphone detecting the highest level and the output of particularizing the direction of the sound source is provided (S321). SOLUTION: Microphones MC1 to MC6 radially arranged in a horizontal direction are characterized in that they are located at an equal distance from a lower part reception reproduction loudspeaker 16. The microphones MC1 to MC6 are characterized in that they are located in pairs from the center of the reception reproduction loudspeaker 16. A face of a sound reflective plate 12 opposing to a side face of a loudspeaker containing part 14 is characterized in that the plane is curved in a funnel-shape to omni-azimuthally sound out the sound outputted from an upper part sound output opening 14c in a horizontal direction in cooperation with a sound reflection plane 14a. A DSP 25 receives a sound collecting signal from a pair of the microphones, selects the microphone collecting the highest tone, transmits the sound collecting signal to an opposite two-way speech apparatus via a telephone line, and lights up any of light emitting diodes LEDs 1 to 6 corresponding to the selected microphone. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To equally adjust an acoustic coupling between a speaker and microphones in a speech unit automatically and digitally by using the facility of the speech unit without the use of a particular unit. SOLUTION: The microphones MC1 to MC6 radially arranged are located at an equal distance from the speaker 16. A test signal generation section 258 in a digital signal processor (DSP) 25 outputs a test signal such as a pink noise signal to the speaker 16, digital gain attached A/D converters 271 to 273 inputs the signal of a microphone detecting the sound of the speaker 16 into the DSP 25, a level determination / gain control section 257 carries out gain adjustment processing and adjusts the digital gain in the A/D converters 271 to 273, a digital attenuation in a variable attenuation section 251, and a gain of a level outputted to an output amplifier 291 or the like on the basis of a result of the gain adjustment processing. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microphone-speaker integrated speech unit capable of being effectively operated. SOLUTION: When a chairman mode selection SW, a noise mode selection SW, and a mute mode selection SW are depressed, a DSP 25 as a microphone operating condition setting means attains microphone selection processing in the modes. A mode other than these modes is a conference mode. In a chairman mode, speech of a chairman takes precedence over other speeches. In a noise mode, selection of microphones is disabled to avoid the effect of noise or the like. Selection of all the microphones is disabled in a mute mode. In the conference mode other than the modes above, for example, the sound of a microphone with the speech of higher priority is selected. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide technology of equally adjusting an acoustic coupling between a speaker and microphones in a speech unit used for a two-way speech with a simple method. SOLUTION: The microphones MC1 to MC6 radially arranged are located at an equal distance from the speaker 16. A test signal generating section 258 in a digital signal processor (DSP) 25 outputs a pink noise signal to the speaker 16, the DSP 25 receives the output of the microphones detecting the sound of the speaker 16 via variable gain amplifiers 301 to 306 in the DSP 25, variable attenuators 2511 to 2516 in the DSP 25 attenuate the signal, and level detection sections 2521 to 2526 in the DSP 25 detect the peak level of the absolute value of a difference between signals from a pair of the microphones of opposed to each other. A level discrimination / gain control section 253 in the DSP 25 adjust gains of the variable gain amplifiers 301 to 306 or the attenuation of the level detection sections 2521 to 2526 so that the peak is within a sensitivity difference adjustment error. The sensitivity difference can automatically be adjusted by using the facility of the speech unit without the need for a particular unit in this way. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
