    Abstract: A communication terminal provided with a voice inputting section which is moved from a location close to the terminal body to another location far from the body while talking. The terminal is further provided with a transmission-reception circuit section which modulates and transmits the output signal of the voice inputting section and, at the same time, receives, modulates and outputs signals, an operation inputting mechanism having a plurality of operation keys, a detecting mechanism which detects the position of the voice inputting section, and a control section which controls the operation of the transmission-reception circuit section based on the operation of at least one of the operation keys and the inputting operation of the operation inputting mechanism based on a detecting signal from the detecting mechanism. When a certain specific key of the keys is operated, the control section accepts the operation inputted from the operation inputting mechanism. Since the operation mode inputted from the operation inputting section is controlled by detecting the variable position of the voice inputting section with respect to the terminal body, each operation mode can be executed without misoperation and multiple functions can be realized without increasing the number of operation keys.
