Abstract: PURPOSE:To control the capacitance of each VC diode of a resonance circuit of a tuning circuit and a local oscillator over a required range by using a single control voltage means. CONSTITUTION:A control voltage generating circuit 8o generates a DC voltage of V1-V2, which is applied to a VC diode 7d via a resistor 7r in order to change an oscillating frequency of a local oscillator 6 over a prescribed range. The capacitance of the diode 7d is changed in the range of C1-C2 in this case. On the other hand, the control voltage of the VC diodes 2d and 4d of signal system tuning circuits 2, 4 becomes V1/n-V2/n, where 1/n is the voltage dividing ratio of a resistance voltage divider 13. The capacitance of the diodes 2d, 4d is changed in the range of C3-C4 by the divided control voltage. The capacitance of the VC diode is increased as the applied reverse voltage is decreased and the increase in the capacitance is remarkable in a low voltage.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the non-operating condition of a microprocessor, by compensating a drop in the supply voltage to the microprocessor when electric power is supplied to the microprocessor and a radio receiver. CONSTITUTION:When the control signal of the output terminal PC of a microprocessor 1 becomes a low level, both transistors (TR)Q2 and Q3 are turned on and electric power is supplied from a main power source E1 to a radio receiver 2 and, at the same time, a constant voltage is obtained from the output terminal t6 of a voltage stabilizer 3. In this case, a supply voltage is also supplied to the input terminal t3 of the microprocessor from a TRQ1 side, but the voltage obtained at the connecting mid-point of resistors R2 and R3 becomes considerably low, because the electric power taken out from the main power source E1 increases. To compensate the voltage drop, a constant voltage from the output terminal t6 of the stabilizer 3 is supplied to both ends of a series circuit of resistors R3 and R4 through a resistor R5, so as to maintain a voltage supplied to a chip enable terminal CE above a prescribed value.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To select efficiently the channel of a broadcast wave in a broadcast wave band where plural reception bands are arranged discretely by using a variable oscillator of a PLL as a local oscillator to control the frequency dividing ratio 1/N of a programmable frequency divider of the PLL. CONSTITUTION:In the PLL11, 12 is the programmable frequency divider having a frequency dividing ratio of 1/N, 13 is a phase comparator and 16 is a low-pass filter. In Figure, 14 is a reference oscillator, an oscillated signal having a frequency of f0 is supplied to a frequency divider 15 having a frequency dividing ratio of 1/K, where the signal is frequency-divided, a reference signal having a reference frequency of f'0 obtained is applied to a phase comparator 13, the phase is compared with an output from a programmable frequency divider 12. This receiver incorporates a microprocessor 17 and includes a clock circuit. Thus, the frequency dividing ratio of the frequency dividers 12, 15 is controlled by a microprocessor 17. Further, the application/disconnection of power to the radio receiver main body, manual channel selection and automatic channel selection or the like are conducted by scanning a key switch of a key matrix circuit 18 connected to the microprocessor 17.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To amplify a broad reception signal with simple constitution by selecting respectively a resonance frequency of the 1st resonance circuit to the vicinity of the upper limit frequency of a reception frequency band and the resonance frequency of the 2nd resonance circuit to the vicinity of the lower limit frequency of the reception frequency band. CONSTITUTION:An inductance L1 of a bar antenna 1l is selected properly so as to bring the resonance frequency of it with a capacitor C1 of the resonance circuit slightly higher than the upper limit frequency fmax (e.g., 1,611kHz) of the reception frequency band. Then L2 and C2 are selected so that the resonance frequency between the inductance L2 of a coil 3l and the capacitance C2 of a capacitor 17 is slightly higher than the lower limit frequency fmin (e.g., 153kHz) of the reception frequency band. Moreover, the overall frequency characteristic of a high frequency amplifier is made flat almost over the entire range of the reception frequency band by selecting properly both damping resistors R1 and T2. Thus, the tuning element such as a varactor diode is not required by adopting a stagger amplification circuit provided with the 1st and 2nd resonance circuits having a different resonance frequency respectively.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To exactly catch a start control signal of an emergency broadcast, by raising a detection sensitivity against a control signal within a prescrived frequency range. CONSTITUTION:When an emergency broadcast is started, its broadcast wave is caught by the antenna 1, and it is led out as an audible frequency signal through the high frequency circuit 2, the fixed contact 3a of switch 3, the intermediate frequency amplifying circuits 4, 5, and the detection circuit 6. A control signal is contained in this audible frequency signal, it is output by the filter 9, the relay 11 is operated by the output of the detection circuit 10, and the electric power source is supplied to the audible frequency amplifying circuit 7. When a broadcasting start control signal is detected by the detection circuit 10, in response to it, the switch 3 is switched from the fixed contact 3a side to the 3b side by the excitation signal from the delay switching circuit 13. Accordingly, as for the part of alarm contents following said broadcasting start control signal, its gain is lowered by the portion of the intermediate frequency amplifying circuit 4, by which broadcasting is sounded as an aural signal with good articulation.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To confirm that urgent alarm has been broadcasted, by detecting the control signal for emergency alarm broadcast and by storing the signal related to it and by outputting the signal for confirmation of presence or absence of this signal. CONSTITUTION:The broadcasting start control signal is detected by control signal detecting circuit 7, and the contact of relay 8 is closed, and power is supplied to audible frequency amplifying circuit 5. When the broadcasting end signal is detected by control signal detecting circuit 7, the contact of relay 8 is released to cut off power of audible frequency amplifying circuit 5. Flip-flop circuit 11 is set by the eenergizing signal obtained in the output side of control signal detecting circuit 7, and light emitting diode 13 is lit, thus indicating that emergency alarm has been broadcasted.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To ensure the steady reception through a simple constitution by supplying the signals based on the variable oscillator circuit at the AM receiving time as well as the output signals of the synthesizer fixing oscillator circuit at the FM receiveing time to PLL respectively to use them as the local oscillation frequency. CONSTITUTION:The AM reception system detects (18) the electric wave received through antenna 11 via first and second mixers 14 and 16, and the FM system leads the reception wave of FM antenna 31 to mixer 34 for demodulation 36. When the AM frequency band is received, the signals based on variable frequency oscillator circuit VFO41 are supplied to PLL41. Then the first frequency conversion is carried out through mixer 14 with the output signal of PLL41 used as the first oscillation signal. At the same time, the second frequency conversion is performed through mixer 16 with the output signal of synthesizer fixing oscillator circuit 42 used as the second local oscillation signal. On the other hand, the output signal of circuit 42 is supplied to PLL40B when the FM frequency band is received, and the output receives frequency conversion 44 in the form of the local oscillation signal.
