    Abstract: PURPOSE:To find a tape traveling speed without misjudgment by comparing a difference signal outputted out of a subtraction circuit with a prescribed threshold and measuring the number of pulses to be obtained based on a comparing result. CONSTITUTION:After a reproducing output S1 is amplified by an amplifier 4, only a reproducing pilot signal S2 is passed by an LPF 5. Then, this signal is multiplied by a reference pilot signal S3 by a balanced modulator 6 to obtain a balanced modulation output S4. Subsequently, the output S4 is inputted to a BPFs 7 and 8, and error signals 35 and S6 outputted from detectors 9 and 10 are inputted to a subtractor 11. Then, an ATF error signal S7 outputted by the subtractor 11 is given to an LPF 12, and the signal after removing its high frequency component is waveform-shaped by a zero cross comparator 13 to obtain a detecting pulse S8, which is then counted by a counter 14, and the number of pulses S9 per unit time is compared with a constant S10 by a comparator 15 to obtain a discriminating result S11. Consequently, even when an amplitude of the signal S7 is fluctuated, a traveling mode can be discriminated with high accuracy.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To allow a decoder to decode a remote control signal with respect to plural remote control light receiving sections. CONSTITUTION:The DEVICE is provided with plural light receiving sections 11-1n to receive a remote control signal. A switch circuit 20 selects one of plural light receiving outputs of the sections 11-1n, and is provided with a switching signal generating means 3, which generates a switching signal SE to obtain sequentially plural light receiving outputs through the sequential changeover of the switch circuit 20 and also with a signal detection means 32 detecting whether or not an output signal of the switch circuit 20 includes a specific pattern. When the signal detection means 32 detects it that the output signal of the switching circuit 20 includes a specific pattern, the switching signal SE is controlled to be held at that time. An output signal of the switching circuit is decoded by a decode means 31 to obtain a decoded output of the remote control signal.
