Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a data transfer device to which a master device that issues transfer requests and slave devices each having a function of responding to the transfer request are connected. The device includes: a transfer request counter that counts up or down each time a response signal is inputted thereto from any slave device, and counts down or up each time a data transfer completion signal is inputted thereto; a transfer destination selector that, based on a count value of the counter and information concerning a transfer-target slave device, determines and selects one of the slave devices as a destination of the transfer request, and connects the master device with the selected slave device; and a data transfer monitoring section that monitors completion of data transfer corresponding to the transfer request and, upon recognizing the completion, outputs the data transfer completion signal to the counter.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep minors, for example, away from undesirable information by judging whether a service is to be provided on the basis of first information received from a server in which the information of a user is stored and second information inputted from the user. SOLUTION: When the provision of the service is requested, the server storing the first information of the user who requests the provision of the service is connected and on the basis of the first information received form the connected server and the second information inputted from the user, it is judged whether or not the service is to be provided. Concerning such a system, a home server 1 is connected through a network 11 to a personal computer(PC) 21 and a WWW server 22. When there is a request of the service from the PC 21 to the WWW server 22, the personal information of the home server 1 is provided, for example, and then personal information from the user is inputted and it is judged whether the service is to be provided.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable arrangement of plural jog dials, without increasing design, or manufacturing cost or distribution cost, and to diversify the arrangement without increasing the design, manufacturing and distribution cost. SOLUTION: A detachable jog dial unit 5d (including a jog dial 1d) is arranged on the left side surface of the body casing with viewing a back surface panel 2e as seen at the front. A detachable jog dial unit 5c (including a jog dial 1c) is arranged on the right side surface of the body casing with viewing the back surface panel 2e as seen of the front. The jog dial unit 5d and the jog dial unit 5c are made to have the same structure. A dummy panel 5f also can be made detachable, instead of the jog units 5c, 5d.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and surely recover a boot error. SOLUTION: A boot state is supervised and a state at the time of the occurrence of an error is communicated to a center. The state at the time of boot is stored in flash memory 90 and when a boot error occurs and a boot recovery button 34 is operated, a CPU 91 which supervises the state at the time of boot controls a DSVD modem 79 and makes it automatically call a prescribed service center and transmit data which is stored in the flash memory 90. The CPU 91 is provided independently of a CPU 71 which executes basic processing of a personal computer 1.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transfer device and a data transfer system for dispensing with a circuit modification and a large scale of buffer, and dealing with three or more of transfer requests by simple control. SOLUTION: In steps S21, S22, video recording of a desired program is reserved in a video recorder, this information processing unit calculates a quantity of data required to record the reserved program in a step S24. In a step S25, a device provided with a recording medium with a capacity to record the calculated data quantity is searched among the devices connected to the network. In a step S26, the share of the data quantity to be recorded by each device is shared in response to the searched result, and in the step S26, a recordable area of each recording medium is reserved so as to record the decided data quantity.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transfer device and a data transfer system for saving a band of a memory bus, and clearing an internal data when reading/writing data transfer volumes become inconsistent. SOLUTION: This data transfer device/data transfer system has an FIFO controller 21 for monitoring a state of an FIFO 22 and states of reading/writing requests, in a normal operation, to wait transfer for a write data, when the read request RREQ is received while the FIFO is empty, to capture write data as much as possible in the FIFO 22 when receiving the write request WREO while no read request RREQ exists and the FIFO 22 is empty, to start the transfer when all the reading/writing request data are prepared, after waiting, to set a clear mode when the data are not transferred correctly, to execute a fixed response to a master, irrespective of the state of the FIFO 22, and to clear concurrently the data in the FIFO to return a pointer to an initial state. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit data by being converted into a bit rate corresponding to a network. SOLUTION: When a transmission request of contents is decided as received from a client in a step S1, the response of the transmission request is transmitted in a step S2, the quality (bit rate) of the designated contents is read from a database in a step S3, and the band of a network is ensured in a step S4. Whether or not the quality of the contents is larger than a prescribed available bandwidth is decided in a step S5, and when the quality is decided as larger, the dynamic conversion processing of the contents quality is carried out in a step S6 to convert the contents into transmissible quality in a corresponding network. In a step S7, the contents are transmitted to the client, and when the data transmission is decided as finished in a step S8, the band of the network is released and the processing is finished in a step S9.
