Abstract:
The present invention relates to a video signal processor by which information included in video information displayed by a supplied video signal can be used without bothering the hand of a user. When an execution instruction input of a screen memo function is received from the user through a remote controller (100), a control part (20) controls a capture memory part (5) to fetch a displayed image as a static image. The fetched static image is supplied to a child screen processing part (9) and displayed on a child screen. The control part (20) recognizes characters of character information included in the image fetched to the capture memory part and stores them in an EEPROM (24) to be secondarily used.
Abstract:
A video signal processing device allowing the user to use information includ ed in video information displayed by means of a supplied video signal without a ny troublesome operation by the user, wherein on receiving an execution instruction input of the screen memo function by the user through a remote controller (100), a control section (20) captures a displayed video as a static image by controlling a capture memory section (5). The captured stati c image is supplied to a child screen processing section (9) and displayed on a child screen. The control section (20) character-recognizes character information contained in the video captured in the capture memory section an d stores it in an EEPROM (24) for secondary use.
Abstract:
A television receiver includes an LCD unit and an EEPROM in which broadcasti ng program selection information for controlling a tuner section and channel numbers are stored in a coordinated relationship and program-relating information for executing obje ct processing programs and the channel numbers are stored in a coordinated relationship. A control section accepts a selective input of a channel number from a user through a key operation section and reads out information corresponding to the accepted channel number from the EEPROM. When the read out information is the broadcasting program selection information, the tuner section is controlled based on the information, but when the readout information is the program-relating information, a program corresponding to the program-relating information is executed.
Abstract:
A bi-directional communication system comprising a base apparatus and a display apparatus. The display apparatus is a portable liquid crystal display for viewing video programs and browsing the internet. The base apparatus contains a television tuner for receiving broadcast signals and wirelessly transmits programming to the display apparatus. An infrared remote control device connected to the base apparatus is used to control various external input devices (e.g., a VCR or DVD player). Control menus for the base apparatus and the external input device can be displayed on the display apparatus. The display apparatus contains a touch screen, so that a user can select operational commands for controlling the base apparatus and external input devices. The display apparatus wirelessly transmits selected operational commands to the base apparatus, which then retransmits the commands to the appropriate external input device using the infrared remote control device.

Abstract:
An object of the present invention is to provide a television receiving apparatus capable of notifying a user away from home of a message stored in the apparatus. A television receiving apparatus of the invention comprises a memory 31 for storing various data, a clock circuit 32 for counting a current time, a modem 33 for establishing connection with a public switched network, and a control circuit 21. When the clock circuit 32 reaches a time stored previously in the memory 31, the control circuit 21 causes a message held in the memory 31 to be transmitted via the modem 33 to an address designated by data stored in the memory 31.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To construct a more convenient home network which can be remotely controlled without any complicated operation. SOLUTION: When an operating signal from a display device received via a reception processing section 212 is for an external input apparatus, a control signal to the external input apparatus is formed by a formation means 241 in accordance with this operating signal, and this control signal is transmitted to the external input apparatus via a control signal transmitting means 250 wired with the formation means 241.
