Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a picture data processing unit such as a facsimile equipment or a copying machine capable of preserving picture data of a large capacity with excellence in paperless document management. CONSTITUTION:A small sized and replaceable optical disk storage medium called a mini-disk is employed for a picture data preservation means. When the picture data processing unit is applied to a facsimile equipment, an original read section 11 reads a description item of a transmission use document as picture data and a signal processing section 12 compresses picture data and stores the compressed picture in an optical disk cassette 20 via an optical disk drive 19. The stored compressed picture data are sent to a transmission destination facsimile equipment immediately via a MODEM 21 and a line control section 22 under the control of a signal processing section 12 and sent at the mouth, the date, the time designated as reservation transmission. Furthermore, a received compression picture received via the line control section 22 and the MODEM 21 is printed out by a print section 16 and stored on the optical disk cassette 20.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To retrieve the file name of a still picture file stored in a file device of a floor installing type still picture transmitter side in a way of adding a condition by means of a portable still picture transmitter. CONSTITUTION:A portable still picture transmitter 1 is connected through a telephone line 5 with a floor installing type still picture transmitter 2. An optical magnetic disk device 4 is connected with the transmitter 2. At the time of transmitting a file name request to the transmitter 2 with a retrieval condition added by using a function key 13 of the control panel surface of the transmitter 1, the optical magnetic disk is retrieved, and the file name data which satifies the retrieval condition is transmitted from the transmitter 2. The ten retrieval conditions can be preliminarily registered at most. Then, the file name which satisfies the retrieval condition is displayed at a display 12 of the control panel surface of the transmitter 1 based on the received file name data. Thus, the desired still picture files can easily be narrowed, a communicating time taken for a file retrieval can be shortened, communicating amounts can be reduced, and an operability can be improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide an electronic apparatus capable of simply inputting alphabets or the like without preparing keys corresponding to the alphabets or the like and requiring an independent correspondence table or the like. CONSTITUTION:Numerical keys 14 are arranged on the operation panel face of a portable type still image transmitting equipment. Alphabets are allocated to the numerical keys '1' to '9' in addition to numerals. In a character input mode, an input character can be selected by the number of times of continuous depression of each key and the capitals or small letters of alphabets can be inputted by means of the keys '1' to '9' in addition to the input of numerals. Plural codes are allocated to keys '*', '#'. In the character input mode, an input code can be selected by the number of times of continuous depression of the key '*' or '#' and plural codes can be inputted by means of the keys '*', '#'. Thus numerals, alphabets and codes can simply be inputted only by the twelve keys, i.e., ten keys '1' to '9' and the code keys '*', '#' without requiring an independent correspondence table.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To continuously receive the still image files stored in the file device of another still image transfer device, in sequence. CONSTITUTION:When a specific file name is specified among still image file names to be transferred between still image transfer devices, the still image files of the specified file names are sequencially transmitted. For example, a portable still image transfer device 1 is connected to a stationary still image transfer device 2 by way a telephone line 5. When, by using a function key 13 on an operational panel face of the transfer device 1, a request for a file name is transmitted to the transfer device 2, a magneto-optical disk is retrieved and than a file name data is transmitted by the transfer device 2. When, by using a numerical key 14 and a function key 13, plural file names are specified among obtained file names, the transfer device 1 sequencially requests the still image files corresponding to specified file names from the transfer device 2. The transfer device 2 retrieves the magneto-optical disk, and sequencially transmits the still image files having the specified file names to the transfer device 1.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide the multi-spot video conference device in which a conference can be easily reserved from a distant place while using the inexpensive device. CONSTITUTION: The video conference device is constituted by connecting video conference terminal equipments 1-1 to 1-n through a line network 2 to a multi- spot control unit(MCU) 3. Besides, the multi-spot control unit 3 is provided with the preparing function of conference holding notice data or minutes-of-proceedings data and the prepared conference holding notice data or minutes-of-proceedings data are transmitted to facsimile equipments to be the distribution destination designated in advance.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To use the same software (ROM) even when a displayed character is made different from a destination. CONSTITUTION:An internal modem 111 is provided with a destination setting switch and the setting is implemented, e.g. at the manufacture. At application of power, a CPU 101 sets automatically a display character to a display device 12, an output level to a telephone line 5 and a standard or the like for dialing in response to the destination designation switch. The setting is implemented by providing a flag in a work RAM 104. In the case of a display of the display device 12, the CPU 101 controls the display device 12 in response to the state of the flag in the work RAM 104 to execute a display in response to the destination. In the case of dialing and an output to a telephone line 5, an internal modem 111 is controlled similarly in response to the destination. Even when the display character is made different depending on the destination, the same ROM is used, the management of the ROM is simplified and the manufacture process is made in common.

If a stile image file name is specified on a display part 12 on an operational panel face of the transfer device 1 and, by using the function key 13, a request for a still image file is transmitted to the transfer device 2, a magneto-optical desk is retrieved and the still image file corresponding to the specified file name is transmitted by the transfer device 2. Without performing troublesome operations such as typing in a file name, etc., a desired still image file can be received by a simple key operation.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable the picture data transmitter handling only a picture data of a natural picture to display a character or a hand-written drawing picture. CONSTITUTION:A frame memory 229 has a character plane in which a character data or a hand-written drawing picture data [Y,B,G,R] is written and a natural picture plane in which a picture data of a natural picture [B,G,R] is written. Thus, the transmitter processes not only a natural picture but also a character or a hand-written drawing picture data. When the character or the hand-written drawing picture data is sent to the picture data transmitter processing only the picture data of the natural picture, after the picture data of the character plane is transferred to the natural picture plane, the picture data of the natural picture is sent. The character or the hand-written drawing picture data is processed as the picture data of the natural picture and the picture of the character or the handwritten drawing picture data is displayed on the picture data transmitter handling only the picture data of the natural picture without addition of the hardware and the software, that is, without loss of merits such as portable performance, economy and low power consumption.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To secure a storing function in a still picture transmission system for the history of a received still picture file. A work RAM of the transmitter 1 stores 10 names of still picture files including the latest one received from the transmitter 2. These file names are successively shown for reference on a display 12 by means of the numeral keys 14 provided on a control panel of the transmitter 1. The numbers are given to the shown file names in the order of reception. Then a still picture file request is issued by means of a function key 13 provided in the control panel with a prescribed file name shown on the device 12. Thus the still picture file can be received again in response to the relevant file name.

When the continuous reception function of the entire files is selected and instructed using a numerical key 14 and the function key 13, the still picture files corresponding to the obtained file names are successively requested from the transmitter 1 to the transmitter 2. The transmitter 2 retreives the magneto-optical disk and successively transmits the requested still picture files to the transmitter 1. The still picture files of the received file names can be successively received by an easy key operation.
