    Abstract: A touch panel apparatus of the type in which a plurality of photo-detecting pairs (11, 12) generate a plurality of detecting beams of different lengths which cross the display surface (eg obliquely, as shown), includes a circuit for reducing the sensitivity of the photo-detecting pairs at the corners of the display surface to prevent malfunction due to reflected beams (a, b) caused by the relatively higher intensity beams at those locations resulting from the relatively shorter beam lengths. The photodetecting pairs are activated sequentially to scan the two sets of beams starting from the respective top corners so that, should more than one finger inadvertently protrude into the plane of the beams, the forefinger will be detected first and only nation identified. The touch panel may be used over a rectangular C R T screen having curvature in only one direction.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To confirm an outside scene instantaneously by providing an optical axis where a lens system is arranged, a display which projects an image on the optical axis, a beam splitter which is arranged below the lens system slantingly at 45 deg. to the optical axis, and a liquid crystal shutter. CONSTITUTION:A mirror 1 is arranged slantingly at 45 deg. to the optical axis ox of the convex lens system 6 composed of one - several lenses, the optical axis ox is bent by 90 deg., and the display 7 for a viewfinder is arranged halfway between the focus F1 of the convex lens system and the mirror 1 perpendicularly to the optical axis ox. Further, the beam splitter 2 is arranged below the convex lens system 6 slantingly at 45 deg. to the optical axis ox and the liquid crystal shutter 3 is provided in front of the beam splitter 2. Therefore, while the liquid crystal shutter 3 is closed, an image projected on the display 7 for the viewfinder can be observed as a virtual image 4 from the position of the eye 5 in front of the liquid crystal shutter 3. Consequently, the light emission of the display 7 is stopped and the liquid crystal shutter 3 is placed in a transmission state to confirm the outside scene instantaneously.
