Abstract: PURPOSE:To decide on a noiseless state extremely stably and accurately and to obtain a still reproduction screen having no noise bar by feeding a tape at a slow speed after a pause button is operated, and stopping the tape by the output of a state detecting circuit. CONSTITUTION:The output of a head B is supplied to a noise detecting circuit 10 through a head amplifier 4 and an noise pulse is detected on the basis of a reproduced envelope. A gate pulse and the noise pulse are supplied to an AND gate 12 to detect a time coincidence between the both. When a coincidence output is generated by the AND Gate 12, a flip-flop 13 is set by the output and its output is supplied as a control signal (s) to a capstan motor control circuit 9. Thus, a slow or intermittent driving signal supplied from a control circuit 9 to a capstan motor is stopped to stop the tape. Then, noiseless still reproduction is performed until the pause button 8 is released.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To eliminate the deviation of right and left display video images at the time of viewing two display devices such as liquid crystal display panels or the like with both eyes. CONSTITUTION:Two liquid crystal display panels 3L and 3R for which a displayable area larger than a display area is provided on either one or both of them are arranged corresponding to the right and left eyes. Also, a timing generator 4 for performing display control capable of varying a display timing is used and the deviation of the display position of the video images is corrected by varying the position of the display area within the displayable area of the liquid crystal display panel 3R for instance. Since the display position of the video images is electrically adjusted in terms of circuits, no mechanical limit is present, the deviation of the display video images can be eliminated and also the mechanical mounting accuracy of the display device is not required so much. Also, since the video images at the time of viewing them with both eyes are viewed as one, a burden is not imposed on the eyes even at the time of viewing them for a long time.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently reduce the size in the vertical direction by supplying picture data to a display means as a longitudinally and laterally converted data train and executing a display operation so that vertical pixel trains are scanned in the horizontal direction. SOLUTION: A video signal which is longitudinally and laterally converted by utilizing memories 3a, 3b is impressed on a liquid crystal panel 20 and, also, in the panel 20, dot scanning shift registers are arranged in the vertical direction and pixel drivings in the vertical direction based on the video signal are performed. Moreover, in the panel 20, a line scanning shift register is arranged in the horizontal direction and since the horizontal scanning signal synchronized with the video signal is generated in a liquid crystal panel driving control part 10 to be supplied to the register, scannings for every vertical line are executed in the horizontal direction. Thus, the video of a display area 21 becomes a picture whose longitudinal length and lateral length are ordinary. Since only a line scanning shift register may be provided as a circuit part parallel with the horizontal direction, the size of the vertical direction of the liquid crystal panel 20 is efficiently reduced.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To track a set target even when a sunshine or illumination state or how to observe a target in an image is changed by detecting the position of the target based on the pixel value of an inputted image in a prescribed detection range and correcting the detection range based on the position of the detected object image. SOLUTION: When a target image 131 in a window 101 displayed on a monitor is selected as a target to be automatically tracked, a personal computer(PC) displays a frame of previously set size surrounding the image 131, applies preprocessing to the pixel value of the image 131 in the frame 132 and then extracts an outline 151. Then the PC calculates tracking data showing the position of a centroid of the image 131 in the prescribed number of frames, calculates the moving variable of pan tilter based on the means value of tracking data and transmits these calculated data to a video camera. The position of the frame 132 for detecting the target image 131 is occasionally updated, based on a newly generated still image. Consequently the video camera can stably track the target.

The circuit 28 detects the brightness of the picture 3A, makes the luminance level into a detection signal, SDET via an integration circuit 29 and transmits the signal to a control circuit 31. The circuit 31 outputs a drive signal SDRV based on the signal SDEF and controls light quantity of the light source part 6. Thus, luminance can be very easily adjusted by a simple constitution.

In such a case, an octuple speed field sequential control section executes the control to change over the selectors by each of 1/8 frame (=1 field) within the one frame period. For example, the R signals, G signals and B signals as, for example, the frame F are stored into the frame memories and are thereafter read out of the frame memories repetitively 8 times at the octuple speeds in the period when the frame F2 is inputted and are processed in a white signal forming section.
