PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly open/close a head cap in a small space while keeping a printer head fixed to a fixed position. SOLUTION: A head cap opening/closing mechanism opens/closes and drives the head cap 10 for opening/closing a head surface 9a of a head cartridge 8, by using a rack 89 which is linearly driven by a motor, while guiding the head cap 10 along complicated shapes of guide grooves 32 and 33 of a head cap guide mechanism.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To adjust a gap between a line head and a conveyance belt in a state that the line head is fixed to a predetermined position. SOLUTION: In a gap adjusting mechanism, a follower shaft of a conveyance belt 30 which is driven to be swung in a vertical direction in order to open or close a head cap 1 is made to be in direct contact with a height reference section 132 or to be in contact with it through a spacer 133, thereby adjusting the gap between the line head 9 and the conveyance belt 30.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize simplification and miniaturization of a structure and smoothly transfer printing papers by utilizing a slack side of a transfer belt for transferring printing papers. SOLUTION: A driving system is provided, in which a driven pulley 109 at the downstream side of the transfer belt 30 is driven in an up-down direction to rotate with a main pulley 108 at the upstream side being made a rotation center, thereby facilitating securing of an opening/shutting movement path of a head cap for opening/shutting a head face of a head cartridge 8. A pinch roller 29 is adapted to suppress the behavior by slack on an upper path 30a which is the slack side of the transfer belt 30, at a near position at the upstream side of the head cartridge 8.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily remove a photographic paper sheet, when jammed, by separating a carrying roller from a power transmission system. SOLUTION: This photographic paper carrying device comprises a gear train 30 for transmitting the driving force of driving force supply means to the carrying roller 13 carrying the photographic paper sheet and an arm part 22 for rotatably supporting gears 31-33 of the gear train 30. When the driving force is supplied by the driving force supply means, the gear train 30 engages a carrying roller gear 20 to permit the rotation of the carrying roller 13, and when torque for rotating the carrying roller 13 becomes given force or more with the occurrence of jam, the arm part 22 is supported so as to be moved in the direction of separating an end gear 33 of the gear train 30 from the carrying roller gear 20.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a quality of surface condition of a formed image by modifying a surface condition of a protective layer formed on an image of recording paper, and by taking measures against dust. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises: conveying means 2, 3 and 4 for conveying recording paper 1; a thermal transfer sheet moving means 6 and 7 for moving a thermal transfer sheet 5 having a dye layer to form an image on the recording sheet and a protective layer to protect the image which are formed in the longitudinal direction of a base material sheet; modifying sheet moving means 9 and 10 wherein an opening for a formed image, provided so that the thermal transfer sheet is directly brought into contact with the recording paper, and a surface property modifying part for modifying the surface condition of the protective layer protecting the image formed on the recording paper, move a surface property modifying sheet 8 formed in the longitudinal direction of the base material sheet; a thermal head 11 for thermally transferring the dye layer and the protective layer on the recording paper by applying thermal energy to the recording paper in the state of the recording paper facing the thermal transfer sheet 5 or the surface property modifying sheet 8; and modifying sheet protective means 41a and 41b for preventing dust from depositing on the surface property modifying sheet 8, or for removing dust deposited thereon. SOLUTION: A jam clearing mechanism 151 automatically moves a head cap 10 to a closing position of a head cartridge 8, when an upper chassis 2, which is fitted with the head cartridge 8, the head cap 10 and a head cap guide mechanism, is opened above a lower chassis 1 in such a manner that a fulcrum shaft 17 serves as a center.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface property modifying sheet cartridge and an image forming cartridge that enable small-sizing of an image forming apparatus and can improve maintainability.SOLUTION: The surface property modifying sheet cartridge includes: two reels that are disposed in parallel with a predetermined interval; a surface property modifying sheet that is provided in a tensioned state between the two reels in a manner such that end parts thereof are respectively fixed to the two reels and are wound respectively around the two reels; and a case part configured to store the two reels and the surface property modifying sheet. The case part includes a penetrating part that exposes a part of the surface property modifying sheet positioned between the two reels.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effect mechanical and electrical detachment/attachment of a head cartridge through a single action without difficulty. SOLUTION: In the head cartridge/connector detachment/attachment mechanism, the head cartridge 8 is to be positioned by being pressed into a cartridge holder 12 using a control lever, and a movable side connector 43 is to be press fitted into a fixing side connector 42 with a slide block 47 which is slide driven by the cam mechanism of the control lever. At that time, the head carriage is press fitted into the cartridge holder from a direction of the component force (arrow mark h') of the pressing direction to the cartridge holder of the head cartridge by the control lever.
